no way they should even contemplate moving Lodge on

I still reckon he should be captain. The game hasn't gone past him, he was playing with a broken fucking leg. He's a beast and, when fit, inarguably our pack leader. He's now old enough and gritty enough to be a genuine captain, and this is coming from someone who wanted him to rot in a jail cell only a few years ago.

I'm not sure why people would want to move on Lodge.

Payne Haas had an outstanding rookie year because of Lodge. He took a lot of pressure off Haas. He's a good prop that does the job. He didn't do that job this year, but it's kind of difficult having any kind of impact playing on one fucking leg. That one two punch from Lodge and Haas was quite effective when they were at their best, we should keep that.

A decent front row rotation will help both him and Haas too

my instincts are telling me the game has now passed Lodge by, but I cant say for sure as he was nowhere near fit last season...then the inevitable breakdown...

He will be the one guy I watch closely next year though....

Seems the games moving away somewhat from the Klemmers and the Lodges of this world...you want middle forwards now, not necessarily "Props" and "Lock forwards" per say in the traditional sense

Guys like Jurbo and Frizell....edge forwards but can take those hit ups and hit hard in the forward line. Thats where Origin teams are heading, makes sense NRL teams follow suit.

Then your locks become more ball playing and more mobile defensively to assist their defensive line in the 6-again era....

So yeh, torn right now if the club let Lodge go, but arguably it may well be the correct decision in a few years time...

If he drops weight he’ll be fine, he can pass and has an offload but he needs to up his leg speed, RCG looked like he dropped a bit of weight this season and it worked wonders for him.

Isn’t Lodge on a crazy inflated and long contract? Does anyone know? I remember it being stupid like all our contracts.

I'm sure Kevvie was recently quoted as saying Bird was in his plans for the side for next season ?

unders compared to what he was offered elsewhere

reportedly around the 700k mark.

Haven't seen anything about this this bird deal, anyone got anything?

15 years with 7 player options in his favour. I really don't know what everyone is concerned about.

With of course the proviso that should be sign with another club, those 7 years of player options will be honoured in full and include any future medical expenses.

I think with some more experience under his belt, the "new style of play" may suit bullemore. Big, with good leg speed.
