I think the team is improving each week, we will beat Manly.

I can't beleive a team like Parra are at 7-1 to win the comp, while the Broncos are at 21-1. I don't beleive that either is capable of winning this years comp, but the Broncos are more likely than some of the teams above them in the betting stakes. FFS even South Sydney are more favoured than the Broncos.

Ummm, are people really questioning why the Broncos aren't getting "respect" ?! The Broncos are 5-6 ffs. Are people suddenly supposed to forget how dire they were through the first eight rounds ? I hope they can make critics forget how awful they were at the start of this season by continuing to play good defense and winning more games than they lose from this point forward (Losing their mantle as the worst team in the comp for missed tackles would be a good start).

But they're not deserving of anything other than a mention until they can sustain their performance and effort of the past three weeks, longterm.

Brisbane's best win (from what I have seen mind you) was against the Titans. They humiliated them.. IMHO, I underestimated them, and so did the Titans, and we probably shouldn't have.

But as a geniune premiership contender.. I'm starting to think the Broncs are serious about this.

If I were a bookmaker I'd be relatively content with those odds. The Eels have a lot more upside to them than this current Broncos team does. If, IF the Eels get on the same page and get rolling (like they did last year) they suddenly become a very explosive and dangerous football team that's capable of just about anything. So any sportsbook would be crazy to dangle too big a carrot at punters to back the Eels.

Having said that, therein lies what must be the sheer frustration of being an Eels supporter - You're supporting a side that simply isn't interested in getting out of second gear most of the time.

We don't need respect from the media we need respect from our own players.

It's interesting seeing the Titans. They have been poor the last 5 weeks or so. They need to turn it around soon.

I've been saying all along they need to go 1. Zillman 6. Campbell 7. Prince 11. Harrison 13. Bird, but hey, Cartwright persists with the girlfriend glassing scumbag at five-eighth and he pays the price.

I'd probably shift Laffranchi to front row, Minichiello to back row and White to the bench.

Nah I think it's more because Bird thinks he's more of a chance of getting the 6 jumper for NSW than the 13. Which is dumb because nobody is really dominating at lock for the Blues.

I have to disagree with Coxy & co. here.

Three wins on the trot is great, but let's not go counting our chickens before they hatch. Remember, it was only a month ago we were slashing our wrists and demanding Henjak's head on a platter.

IF we knock off Manly, then I'll start getting excited. Until then, let's just keep cheering and see what happens...

so our 3 wins don't deserve any credit at all? To go from losing 6/8 to winning 3/3 is a big turnaround. No, it doesn't make us a contender or anything, I'm not delusional, but I think a few people are too busy writing it off as a fluke.

On Bird - I still don't understand why he is ever at 6. Should only ever be used to cover an injury there... doesn't make sense to me.

I hate him but like Gallen he happens to be a decent player... would be handy for them in the 13 I reckon... perhaps even for the blues.

Credit where credit is due, of course. It's been a great turnaround to get 3 on the trot. I'm not saying it's a complete turnaround, though. There's still a lot of work to be done, and the game against the Sharks demonstrated that.

Exactly Bajar, we were not pretty at all in that Sharks game. There's a lot of room to improve.

But take into account how great you guys were against the Titans. You put on a clinic. Showed up a top 2 team with ease, and you're all saying you have nothing to show? COME ON.

Problem is the Titans showed in their very poor win over the Knights and their abysmal capitulation against the Roosters that while they might be in the top 4 on the ladder they aren't in the top 4 teams right now. They got some big problems.

I though it was probally the guys toughest win of the season. Great all round team performance. 6 of our players made over 100+ metres and considering the four guys most in form hadnt trained with the team for 10days i think we played very well.

Sharks started that game with all the field position and we didnt crack in defence. Second half the sharks really through the ball around and our cover and scrambling defence was awsome.

Think the boys need some credit for that game

I agree. but, we'll leave that for another time about John Cartwright's coaching.
