Broncos v Redcliffe trial spoilers and game talk.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Rivett scores off a Roberts cross field bomb.

20-8 Orange break.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

sorry, big thanks to matt too of course

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Norman and Kemp off

Hoffman and Micaels on

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Redcliffe run it on the 5th. And Roberts ends up scoring.

20-14 Broncos.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Cullen drops the ball over the try line. Broncos still in the sheds me thinks.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Come on ... we can't the Redcliffe beat us

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Ben Hunt playing at half back. Dummies and waltzes over for a try.

26 -14

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Kemp shows hes human. He catches a bomb and gets nailed at the same time, as hes being taken into touch by 12 players and the mascot he flings it back inside and Rivett dives on it for a reddcliffe try.

26-20
10 to go.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Kemp feeling sorry for his fellow players goes and blesses hoffman. Who then fires a bullet pass to Michaels who scores in the corner.

Parker misses.

30-20

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Will be interesting to hear Matt's post match thoughts.

Re: Listen/watch Redcliffe trial game?

Game over man game over.

Broncomatt shall be here in about 30 mins to sign autographs and answer any questions, all questions about the sex scandal he was involved with involving the monkey a milf midget and 2 tranny strippers will not be answered. A book deal and movie is in the pipe line so we have to be hush hush about it.

He'll also be doing a rundown of the game.

Thanks Matty.

Brisbane skipper Darren Lockyer's bid for some playing time ahead of the NRL season kick off was scuttled again by injury on Saturday night as the Broncos had 30-20 trial win over Queensland Cup side Redcliffe .

While the injury won't prevent Lockyer playing in Brisbane's NRL season opener against the Cowboys next Friday week, it robbed him of an opportunity to work on his combination with No.7 Peter Wallace, also playing his first game since breaking his ankle last September.

Wallace played the opening half but was not sighted after the break.

"He (Lockyer) will be right for the Cowboys," declared Henjak after the captain's early night.

It was Lockyer's first appearance for Brisbane since suffering an arm injury in the opening minutes of this month's All Star clash on the Gold Coast.

I spoke to Locky after the game and he said he's alright. The cut looked nasty tho. He had to get 12 stitches!!

Wet & miserable night out at Dolphin Oval. The Broncos pretty much adopted a safety first approach in the wet weather and pretty much went through the motions. It was hard for them to get momentum with Ivan making mass changes of up to 5 players at a time in a bid to give every one as much game time as possible.

Not a bad effort considering the conditions. The Dolphins through the ball around a bit more and were rewarded for it. Outside of Kemp's clanger none of the Dolphins tries were from a Broncos bad play or error.

1 Corey Norman - Another good game from the youngster. Played the first half as fullback and showed a lot of confidence. Played parts of the 2nd half in the centres.

2 Antonio Winterstein - Solid game and was on the end of a great backline movement which saw the Broncos go from side of the field to the other with some great passing

3 Gerard Beale - OK but not a lot of involvement

4 Israel Folau - Played very well again playing in the centres and on the wing. The try he set up was all class. He drew the attention of 3 Redcliffe defenders before flicking a perfect pass for Kemp to score.

5 Steve Michaels - Started on the bench and played on the left wing in the 2nd half. Couldn't really fault him. Scored a try off a good pass from Hoffman

6 Darren Lockyer © - Was on fire early before he copped an accidental boot in the head. His try was typical Lockyer, he drifted to the left, dummied and strolled over to score.

7 Peter Wallace - Only played in the first half and steered the team around well in that time. His short ball to Thaiday's try was 10/10

8 Nick Kenny - Probably my Man of the Match. Worked hard all night, made ground with every hit up and pulled a couple of bell ringers in defence.

9 Andrew McCullough - Solid in both attack & defence. Didnt have the same impact as last week, but the wet weather didnt allow for it.

10 Sam Thaiday - Much improved effort on last week. Worked hard and made plenty of ground. Played more of a play making lock role in the 2nd half.

11 Ben Te’o - Good game again, looked dangerous running wide and hit hard in defence.

12 Matt Gillett - Was pretty quiet

13 Corey Parker - Worked hard again, but didnt see as much game time as last week
Interchange

14 Ben Hunt - Come on to replace Lockyer and went well. Controlled the team nicely without trying to do to much. His try was a carbon copy of Lockyer's

15 Tim Smith - Only played the last 20 minutes from what I could tell but was all class. Always seems to have so much time. Michaels try was as a result of him drawing the attention of the Redcliffe defenders and then creating space for his outside men.

16 Scott Anderson - Was ok but made a few handling errors

17 Alex Glenn - Couldnt really tell you. I'm not sure if he even played?

18 Lagi Setu - Was good again. Made some big hits and got some very nice off loads away

19 Denan Kemp - Played the first half on the right wing. Looked very sharp again and dangerous from kick returns. Was out jumped by the Rivett for the Dolphins 2nd try but he had no protection and there wasnt a lot he could do. He Come back on in the 2nd half for about the last 20 minutes. Made a "Billy SLater World Clup style clanger" but that aside he looked good.

20 Mitchell Dodds - Dont really know couldnt pick him up

21 Ashton Sims - Was busy in defence and made a few good runs

22 Josh Hoffman - Played the whole 2nd half and was very "no nonense, no frills" ran back hard and was safe under the high ball. Threw a great pass for Michaels try.

Thanks for the updates and your post-match comments, BroncoMatt!

From the looks of things we did well. I was getting worried because it was raining all day today! What was the crowd like at Dolphin Oval tonight?

Thanks for the rundown of player performances Matt, greatly appreciated!

Glad to see Timmy Smith did well in his cameo, hoping for big things from him this season.

Yeah the rain scared away plenty. I'd say there were still 2000-3000 there through out the day though
