Boys will be boys. Just another story that doesn't need to be told.

Not the first time Ben Barba has been involved in a punch up.

Correction, a story that wouldn't need to be told if the players could show some self control.

Bloody Barba must have been smashed or just way to brave Idris is a mountain.

It didn't invovle a member of the public, IMO let them sort it. Some things get done better that way.

It happened in a public place which kicked them out, therefore it's news. AGain, if players had their post-match booze ups at a player's house, nothing would happen.

I still don't care. Can't see why anyone else would care, whether it was in public or not.

What a beat-up. FFS!

Exactly mrslong. I agree. Why should anyone think any differently to you.

I care. I care a lot. This shit is ruining our game.

What shit is it? ALCOHOL.

Yeah, no arguement really about all that, in reality the players have to realise this. It just shits me that so many ppl are ready to run to a newspaper with this type of crap.

It is the same old arguement, but nobody will ever stop bad decision making where booze is a factor.

are people not going to watch because two teenagers got into a fight?????? Seriously, if you care that much then you need a good hard reality check.

I was down at my local footy club on Friday night. Almost every 2nd person there was on the drink. It's the society, the culture.......

This is all far beyond a joke now, I applaud Denis Fitzgerald (I am as shocked as you are) for calling for total season long alcohol bans for the players because there is to much to lose in terms of fans, sponsors and money to let these kids ruin the games image and reputation even further. If a club boss offered me a $100,000 contract and it said I had to not drink for the duration of the playing season to play the game I love for a living, I like 99% of fans would have the same answer.

Well you guys are the only ones getting upset about it. The sponsors Only care what we think about it and if it's going to do damage to their products, so if you all go "argh these guys are morons and need to be stood down" then that's what they'll do. If you go "well, how about a 3 strikes and they're out policy, we've all been young before let's give these guys a chance to make up for it" then that's what they'll do.

No, i'm not dumb, I've just been around longer than you to care if 2 teenage boys get into a fight in a night club.

If the NRL or clubs ban Alcohol for players imagine how many players we will lose to overseas clubs and rugby union.

People do care whether you like it or not, I for one don't like players from my team fighting eachother, having intercourse in toilets after 12 hour benders, urinating on other pub patrons or drink driving and will like the moral majority voice my disgust at this behaviour both by footballers and society in general.

Sponsors will not want to associate with teams full of players who don't know how to act like decent human beings. Regardless of public pressure you can bet a potential sponsor will choose to invest in a club in a sport that doesn't have the horrible perception that the NRL currently gets which boils down to one common factor ALCOHOL.

If players want to get big money and can't sacrifice booze, then **** 'em off.

Yep union and OS are welcome to them if they continue to carry on like idiots.

Now I don't think that there is a lot to this incident in isolation, but it can't be seen in isolation - every incident involving a RL player is just added to the rapid growing list and they are all seen as a whole. I like almost everyone else am sick of it, I care about the worsening image our game is getting.
