Bunnys v Tits (SPOILER)

I missed the second half. Just saw Champion's selfishness in going for his third. That was disgraceful! What a turd.

Bird was f*cking horrible. He's not a 5/8 I think we all saw that.

I would much prefer Ashley Harrison, he can pass.

The offense was shit, defense was shit. Referring was awful.

Very undeserved win.

Done.

lol remember 2 years ago when the Sydney press were comparing Bird to Wally Lewis? Epic lulz right there.

Yup, based on an origin game played at five-eighth, during which Bird played the perfect lock forward's game...not a five-eighth.

Yeah, but then you have the dilemma of what to do with Harrison, Laffranchi and Minichiello. Which one comes off the bench?

Or do you shift Laffranchi to the front row?
Do you then make the back row too small with Harrison and Bird?

Tough situation.

There was some pretty strange reffing in this game. There was something I noticed in this game - and most games I watch is confusing the hell out of me. Can someone tell me what is the go with the "Play the advantage" rule? It seems they don't play advantage very often anymore and stop play regardless if the correct team gets the ball back. Fair enough with things like a double knock on - but I've just noticed in the last year or two the refs are calling for a scum in situations I think should be play on.

They're enforcing that in the case of a mistake, the non-offending team only gains an advantage if they make ground 10 metres past the point of the mistake.

So, tonight, Raiders could knock the ball on 5m out from their own line, Broncos pick it up, throw it through 20 sets of hands, run 50 metres backwards and end up on the far touch line, Israel Folau gets held up over the line 5 minutes later, all on the one play, and they'd bring it back for the scrum 10m out, 20m in from where the mistake happened.

Just like the Tits game, Souths knock on, dipshit Titans idiot kicks ahead...but because he didn't regather, scrum.

I have a feeling that interpretation will change very quickly. No way should someone be allowed to kick ahead and get the ball back like the Tits did.

If you get the ball from a mistake and you make a decision to kick or pass then play on I say, you have had your advantage.

Agreed. It's just common sense.

They've taken common sense out of the game in too many rule changes in the last few years.

Gould made the perfect point on the Roast. He said that they're trying to make these sort of rules black and white when they can't be black and white, it needs to be common sense and at the discretion of the referee.

He's 100% right - How the fark can you make a black and white rule on a rule that is SUBJECTIVE????

Discussing it now with my referee mate actually. They do get given indicators and "non-negotiables". Non-negotiables are things if referees see they have to penalise, regardless of impact.

Example: hand on the ball in the ruck.

Doesn't matter if it doesn't slow the play down, the referees are told it's "non-negotiable"...which is total shit.

My biggest question mark over the Titans is they have no one aggressive in their pack both in attack and defense able to hurt the opposition. Bird is a huge step forward if only they would play him at lock so he is obliged to come in and defend more centrally where he is suited, what he can do both in attack and defense as a lock would benefit the Titans immeasurably. Preston Campbell won a Dally M playing 5/8th FFS! I don't see why you wouldn't play him there and have Harrison play as his minder in defense.

Campbell played halfback for his Dally M, but your point stands. He's the much better five-eighth option than Bird.
