I'm always impressed at Wally for remaining as impartial as he does. for two champs of their states, he and Sterlo do a decent effort to keep their emotions/allegiances in check around Origin

Wally is so good at hiding his bias that he almost seems like he's going for the other team. Sterlo on the other hand....

Wally used to be really good at overcompensating and concealing his allegiance to the point where it came across like he was actively supporting the opposition.

However, over the past couple of years, Wally tends to celebrate every Queensland/Broncos try as if he was in the grand-stands. The amount of times he goes up with 'ahhhh you beauty!' is ridiculous.

I dont mind it either because at least it gives the Maroons a voice in the booth and really he's nowhere near as domineering as Gould.

I don't mind Wally's bias. IMO he rarely makes observations that are bias, he simply says things to show he's supporting a particular side. That kind of passion is fine by me, it's when commentators make analysis with rose tinted glasses that it gets annoying. Which isn't to say that Wally doesn't necessarily do that, just that I haven't noticed it.

I can't help but laugh when the Broncos are playing and someone makes a break and he's like "Go you good thing!", haha, the king.

Wally changed his tune around mid-2012.

Before then he was always very critical of the Broncos and would often side against them when it would come to ref calls.

Yeah, Hadley with 8 and something like "can call anything" was a joke. "Can call anything as long as it's at the track" would be more accurate.

Agreed. When he first started his stuttering was cringe worthy but he's clearly worked on it and is a way better speaker now. Can analyse the **** out of a game too.

That wouldn't surprise me. Some of his ratings were just stupid Gilbert with a 7 and Hadley with an 8 was stupid. He didn't do Voss because he isn't employed by Fox Sports or 9.
