CEOs Give Go-Ahead To Two Refs + Other Changes.

I really like 2 refs. Teams will take a few round sto get used to the speed of the game but I'd imainge.

One thing I would like to see with the 2 ref system is the NRL adopt a similar style to the NFL where they have an officiating crew - that is where the same officials are together every weekend. So touchies, refs, 2nd refs all work together and therefore get to know each others games, and also teams can then train and adjust according to which crew they have any given weekend.

I'd be willing to bet this won't happen. The NRL are far too stubborn to admit that their ref's are different to eachother.

They are all the same, they operate under the same rules and don't think differently.

Actually Nashy Robert Finch was on the radio the other night and said the intention was for refs to work together in the same pairs as often as possible in order to develop and good rapport with each other (no mention if touchies are included in this, but probably not and who cares about them anyway). Obviously with at least one ref having to do 2 games each week, it's going to be tricky to manage, but they are certainly going to try.
