OFFICIAL Coby Black to join Raiders in 2026, He's Gone

Because we kept failing , any hope was positive

I wouldn’t have minded giving him a go before deciding. Mam had a blinder on debut (if you ignore the first 25 mins), maybe CB would’ve been the same.
Mam also scored 3 tries in his QCup debut. Mam was far beyond black.

I think black was hampered by playing with milf. He tended to let milf take control, and he just distributed and kicked. So wasn't able to take command to demonstrate he had what it takes.

He is definitely the safe option of what was available.

if Pezet proves to be a dud early we could still get Black back, where as if we choose Black getting Pezet if it didn't work would have been much harder.

Pezet was a limited time offer kind of deal thus the hoops involved getting him here.
Black coming back is as far fetched as those that reckon Dearden's coming back.

Once bitten, twice shy - they'll never return.

He left the broncos due to a highly rated halfback who is a couple years ahead of him in age and development with a few 1st grade games to joining the raiders where he will compete with.....

Difference will be instead of having a year on the ground with reynolds and hunt to get a headstart on pezet, he will start a year behind sanders with him having a full season to show what he has. Incredibky stupid and rushed decision by him and his manager... ffs, melbourne, perth, png, cowboys just off the top of my head are better options for him...

I heard Milf never liked playing beside him....

Because he wasn’t a chicken nugget?

I think it's probably just another case of BHQ getting it wrong about a player and his ability.

The fact the club would rather keep a couple of retirees and buy young halves.... I mean, it's pretty telling what they thought of him...

The little I saw of Black last season I saw nothing that got me even a little excited. Good luck to him I think we have our systems in place and I'm more than happy with the way we are headed.

Schifcofske is another that does that, I have heard him say to young players, pick the best coach and club not the money.
Isn't he the one that has been flogging all his clients off to R360?

.I think that's pretty clear. Poorly managed. You only have to look at the difference in how Pezet has been handled. Black is 19 not 22.

I think the Pezet gap year has made it hard for Black, does he take a deal now or wait he can't compete with Pezet for 12 months. Also, the Broncos didn't fight too hard to extend him either. If they thought, he was going to play a part in the Broncos beyond 2026 he wouldn't have got beyond October 31.

I would say Simon and the team have said mate if you can get a deal beyond '26 we can't promise that at the moment.
