Would give this article more credibility if he called out some of the media figures in the game, or his fellow journos. Afterall they are the ones that lead with all the outrage stuff. Blaming the common punter is just low hanging fruit.

Fiffita will play this season and regularly. He will learn from this experience and it's consequences which should include some missed matches.
It's good that he, and a few more in our team are young and can learn.
Pretending this wasnt a mistake will lead to the kind instances that almost cost lodge his career and possibly his life (given his mental state).
Little things like this escalate to bigger things if they are treated as acceptable. I guarantee you lodge never meant for that trouble, and now because of the way club has drawn a line and defined what players can and cannot do, neither he nor anyone else will have it so.
As much as I am critical of certain aspects of this club's administration. It has always placed the well-being and integrity of both our players, the club, and the game as its highest priority.
It's something that has been constant for a long time and for that we should both be thankful and proud.
People make mistakes (players, contrary to popular belief are people too), and it's how we react to them, not their eventuality that defines us.
