We've got some top young forwards especially props coming through and I have a feeling that playing permanently in the second row and getting back in shape is going to help Thiaday and he is going to have an improved season next year. Blair is little more than a Storm fraud. Did have a better year this year but he has done very little since leaving the Storm and like others has been a shadow of his former self ever since.

Considering we're allegedly paying the bulk of Kennedy's contract and a bit of Barba, spending 450K on a hack like Blair sounds like one the worst ideas.

Yes, he may have had a better season, but it's not hard when you're one of the worst forwards in the competition.

I understand you don't like Blair, but if you look at our current players and when they're signed until, there's really not a lot that Bennett can do within the next 2 seasons anyway, a lot of our team is signed until 2016 or 2017.

So, with that in mind, would you rather Bennett take a punt on Blair, who he worked with in the NZ camp and who Kearney has had a lot to do with over the years, or have $450k spare cap room for the 2016 season (Completely guessing on how much space we'd have), when there really isn't any great props coming off contract.

Just for reference, the only props coming off contract after next season that I would class as clearly better than Blair are Warea-Hargreaves & Dylan Napa.

could Bennett really be that stupid, or will this potential signing be Kearnys influence ...either way it would be a bad move. we would be far better off, both financially and on the field by developing Molo and Ofehengue

If he is signed for anything more than 300k I will not be happy. Would be the happiest man alive if Jesse Bromwich wanted to sign here.

I think after this season we can comfortably class him as a prop, he was invisible for the Tigers when he was playing in the back row, the extra work at prop this season at least made him touch the ball a lot more.

And I thought he was pretty good for NZ in the Four Nations at prop, although I wasn't paying a lot of attention to him, I must admit.

We can all agree he has been crap for the Tigers, the fact they lost Fifita to accommodate him will go down as a great regret for the Tigers but he does play well under Kearney, Bennett can work with him, the move would be about his partner not just the money, it has merit.

i am 100% behind molo and big joe being the leaders of the pack for the next decade but when has a young prop ever hit the ground running in first grade? It is hard for them they need time. In saying that it's 3 years since Wallace made his debut he needs to show this season he belongs in the NRL side

It isn't about 'liking' players as much as it's about 'rating' them. I don't rate Adam Blair as a player and haven't thought much of him since 2009. In fact, the only time I ever feel like mentioning him is when the conversation turns to 'overated' players, 'worst buys' and at times 'worst forwards'.

I think you might have your wires crossed Unbreakable, Bennett isn't looking to sign him for 2016, it's actually 2015 which is a slightly more appealing option. However, as far as money is concerned, I would rather hold onto that money and use it as incentive to sign some of our more promising NYC talent who are coming off contract as well as having it ready for a rainy day since player releases are very common place in the NRL. I believe we can do a lot better than Adam Blair and I fail to see what he can offer the Broncos that we don't already have.

Bennett's relationship doesn't sway me in the slightest. He had something to do with Neville Costigan & Brett Seymour - I wouldn't want either at the club.

Can't really argue hypothetical situations either. Zero Tackle is a handy resource but let's be fair, it isn't a true indication of the Player Market. Can't really comment on how much the Broncos have to sign players either, all that I know is that they're still paying players to play for other clubs so I wouldn't waste $450K on a player who really doesn't bring anything that the Broncos need to the table.

Not sure what you mean.. I never said we were signing him for 2016, I was talking about players coming off contract in 2016.

But yeah, I must say I'd rather sign an experienced prop than rely on our NYC props who haven't even played Queensland Cup yet, I'd also rather spend what money we have under the cap rather than "Saving money for a rainy day hoping for someone to become home sick"

by financial position i mean wasting salary cap space that could be better used ... and i think it is much better for the Broncos to give Ofehengue and Molo first grade time over signing a hack.

It only makes sense to me if you meant 2015 since it's based on the notion that the Broncos specifically got rid of Kennedy, Barba, Hoffman etc to sign another prop forward.

Why else would the Broncos hold onto 2016 if they couldn't sign Blair? Things aren't that black and white.
