Would it be fair now to say that Seibold deserves some recognition for making some pretty tough calls?

He's cut a host of underachieving players, he's bought in personnel we all agreed was needed (Croft). He's put guys who have performed (Turpin) in front of established stars (AM9) and now he has moved to put a new Captain in place after the previous one endured a season from hell.

Plenty can be and has been said about him as a Coach, but 12 months on from starting his first season with us, you'd have to say, if nothing else, at least he's shown some willingness to back himself and make changes to turn things around.

Hopefully retiring as a 300+ game, one club player who went from NYC prospect to NRL club Captain for the Broncos will help him recover some of those dollars he's sacrificed once he retires and moves into the corporate/endorsement world post playing career. We all know he certainly will have deserved it.

Same with The Mole. He had the Broncos trying to offload Glenn.

FWIW, Badel usually pans out these days. He called Glenn being retained and Boyd being dropped as skipper. I think they would've preferred Lodge but it didn't market test well.

Boyd is the first Broncos skipper to be demoted. Corey Parker was relieved of co-captaincy, but that doesn't really count.

Happy for him. He’s probably the best choice despite my thoughts on his place in the starting side. I hope he kills it and the club is back in the top four this year.

I can’t believe boyd is still hanging on. Think of his downward spiral: from being qld fb over Slater to losing his rep positions and subsequently the fb position at the Broncos, now he has lost the captaincy and is being shunted to the wing before being dropped completely. How can the bloke not see the signs?

2 years further down the road will do Lodge a world of good in terms of public perception if he can keep his nose clean and keep performing strongly. I'd say it's the perfect amount of time for him to be considered for the role when Glenn retires.

I'm not sure any amount of time will sway the morons that make up the general public. The way they carry on about Lodge, you'd think he raped and murdered that family.
