Touted as a future captain early in his career but he probably didn't kick on performance wise as projected and captaincy looked beyond his reach a couple years ago. I'm glad he has finally secured the role as he was certainly the best candidate in a very young squad.

I just hope his form is up to first grade standard. There were a few times last year where that definitely wasn't the case. For months he was rumoured to be heading elsewhere and nobody really protested and now he is running the show. Sign of the times, I guess.

But he does deserve the gig and I'm happy for him. Let's hope he and the club have a good season after last year's debacle. He has a mammoth task ahead of him.

Since the Bali incident his name has been suspiciously absent from just about every mention of leadership that I've seen. Something is definitely up.

Only concerned he hasn't been signed yet. He's ruled himself out of the leadership group this year. That's only fair.

Fifita’s nowhere near mature enough to be considered for a leadership role atm for me.
I see him as the type of guy who would slowly work his way into the leadership group as he gains more experience rather than being put in there straight away like Carrigan.

I'm amazed 3% of voters (around 20 people!) wanted Boyd retained. Must have a lot of relatives voting.

I’d like to think the majority of that 3% are fans of opposing teams who can recognise that we are actually moving in the right direction now.

Watching Glenn choke up while trying to talk about how much this means to him leads me to believe we'll never see an interview with him where he claims what happens isn't important because 'it's only a game'. This is the kind of attitude our captain needs and what we've long been missing. I don't know if we'll win a premiership this year, but if we don't, I doubt it'll be down to our captain having a piss poor attitude.
