Corey Norman

trying to fill in for Locky must be incredibly daunting.

I think he has the goods, he just needs confidence. I think that game where he played extremely well against the Cowboys (?) showed he has the talent.

I rate him, and he's definitely my first choice to replace Lockyer next year (well first if you don't count players like Thurston or Cronk).

if this clown is our first choice 5/8 next year, we are in massive trouble.

I get the feeling we should groom hoffman for the 5/8 spot.
Haha what the? [icon_drun

I'd play Beale before Hoffman at 5/8, but still I wouldn't even bother doing that as they wouldn't cut it there. They are both quality fullbacks.

then a full season of training as our full time 5/8, with Locky & Langer there to guide him, he will improve a lot.

Except Locky has said he plans to spend 12 months completely away from RL - so I don't think he'll be there to help out too much next year.

Personally I think Norman would do a fine job, but he needs to not have the pressure on him to basically just walk in and be at top standard - he will need time to find his feet and develop; not to just be criticised and lambasted when he doesn't provide instant match-winning plays every time.

Oh thanks for that, I wasn't aware. Well thats a shame, but oh well it's his choice and he deserves to do what ever the hell he wants.

Remember Darius Boyd? When he came into grade he was attrocious, yet all the coaches & senior players were saying how wonderful he is and blah blah blah. Same thing is happening with Corey Norman, the coaches and everyone is saying how wonderful he is, but we're only catching glimpses of it on the field atm.

Give him some time, he's hardly out of nappies ffs.

Attrocious? Please. For some reason this forum thought so, but he was never "atrocious."

Norman on the other hand. That is a word that would sum up most of his performances for the Broncos perfectly.

Totally untrue, his defense atrocious but the other attributes of his game a pretty good IMO.

Exactly.

He certainly was a better player than the likes of Copley in his debut season and his ability to read a game and position himself accordingly was ahead of his years.

In 2007 he was scapegoated.

I always rated Boyd from the very first day he came into the side I thought he would be a very good player and he exceed my expectations if anything.

As for Norman, I think he has talent he just needs some time. At the very least he's the best we have so we don't exactly have other options so we need to support Norman. It won't be easy taking over from Lockyer, big shoes to fill, big expectations.

Darius was terrible. Always out of position. Always always SuRRENDDAAHHHH tackles. Argh. He was dropped for Michaels ffs.

2006. For Steve Michaels.
Then Steve Michaels did his knee injury & Darius came back.
