Try-scoring ace Corey Oates has re-signed with the Brisbane Broncos.
The powerful 25-year-old winger has committed to the end of the 2020 season, with options for 2021 and 2022 also in place.
Oates has scored 91 tries in 142 NRL games for the Broncos, including 13 in 2019 when he reclaimed his place in the Queensland team for all three games of the Origin series.
Biloela-born Oates said he was happy to be staying at the club where he made his debut in 2013, and he was working hard on preparations for 2020.
“It’s good to have things sorted. The Broncos have been great for the last 8 years or so and it’s always hard to leave somewhere – the last thing I want to do is pack up and have to start again,” said Oates.
“I started last season really strong and it would be good to have that form the whole year – that’s on myself, I can fix that.
“You have to manage it all and have a strong preseason, and my focus will be on getting all the little things right.”
Broncos coach Anthony Seibold said: “We are really happy to retain Oatsey – he is a representative-quality player in the prime of his career, and we are looking forward to big 2020 season ”
