Surprised there isn't a thread on this already. He has been fantastic for us the last two years. Week in, week out he just never puts in a bad performance. IMO he would have been a fixture in rep teams for the last few years had his earlier seasons not been disrupted by injury. Corey gets through a mountain of work, yet unlike most other endurance players he can still have an impact and does so with his ball running and strong offloading skills.

If ever there was a reward for a consistent, high standard of performance, then this is it. Congratulations Corey.

One of my favourite players, still disappointed for him that he didn't get the captaincy. He's been the most consistent player in our squad in the last two years and he's a fantastic player. I was very happy to see his efforts rewarded with a QLD jersey this year.

If we win the grand final he easily deserves an AUS jersey but then our whole backrow pretty much deserves rep honours so that's a big reason why he isn't spoken about so much because our whole backrow is awesome.

Awesome, a far more worthy player than Uate.

It's been a v. good last two years for Corey, I don't think he's underated anymore because people honestly think he's one of the games better backrowers these days. And I prefer it that way, when he was 'underated' I didn't think he was THAT good (2008-2009).

He's been absolutely mammoth for us over the last two seasons. Couldn't go to a more deserving player... even if he is a bit of a ball hog. :p

The old saying was - Parker never passes.

It is a reward for consistency. I don't really think he was the seasons "best" but the League Week system does suit him perfectly, in that he is fantastically consistent and plays for a very strong team that won a lot of games. While I think Gallen is by a fair way the leagues best 13, there is absolutely no doubting the tremendous transformation Corey has made in the last 3 years to become a massive workhorse who is now incredibly effective in attack and defense, considering when he first was used as an 80 backrower he was terribly ineffective with slow sideways running and nothing but 3rd man in tackles. The improvement to his game is amazing and credit to him for this award simply for all the hard work he has clearly done.

Why is it 2012? We haven't played that season yet.

Sssh! Is there a betting market on RLW player of the year?!?!
