Corey Parker

I think he has overall this season been good with the boot, although i always feel nervous when he is lining up a penalty from a distance. But Sh*t, he has had an awesome season, was great to see him get his well deserved origin spot this year, and when the boys ran past us after the game tonight i yelled out to him what i think he deserves "kangaroo tour corey". That said, he probably wont make it, but i reckon he deserves it.

Michael DeVere. Always did the job no matter where he had to slot them from. Freakish goal kicking talent.

Parker compared to our other kickers over the years:
DeVere 76.62%
Parker 74.9%
O'Neill 68.42%
Lockyer 67.52%
Matterson 64.34%

Other members of the team who have kicked goals:
Hodges 100%
Wallace 73.91%
Thaiday 50%
Norman 0%

Haha, yep. Stats don't lie, so he is the only logical replacement for Parker.

He has one good game on bad game in the kicking department, Tonight was his bad game, Next week against Manly will be his good week

Yeah he's been up and down like a yo yo over the past couple of months. I've got no doubt he'll be focussing on it at training this week. Manly are a great defensive team and we might only have 1-2 tries in us (maybe even less if Lockyer doesn't play). Every point is going to be like gold and I'm expecting a similar scoreline to Saturday night's game. I'd hate to see Corey miss a clutch kick that leads to our downfall. He's been outstanding since he took over the goal kicking.

I have no stats to back it up, but when Parker gets close to 100%, the Broncos win easy. And when he struggles, that's when the game is tight.

I have the same vibe. He'll either kick like 1/4 in a low scorer or 6/6 in a thrashing.

I think the big difference in those stats is that the Broncos in the late Matterson, plus O'Neill and Lockyer eras were such great attacking teams that they didn't have to rely on goal kicking to win games.

That has never really been the case in the Parker era, and 75% isn't that great imo. Not only that, but it's his inconsistency that is the main worry, especially at this time of year. Parker could kick 5 from 5 from the sideline one week, and then only score 1 from 4 easier shots the next week. That could really prove costly in finals footy.

Ha, I still remember that moment as if it was just yesterday. It was the strangest play. I think Civo basically did his best Locky impersonation and put Webcke through a gap before scoring himself in the next set. The kick ended up being from the sidelines and Hodges just went up and nailed it as if he was having a walk in the park.

Still, the best kick in Broncos history came from Thaiday in a training session.
