Wow, Willie Tonga would have felt like shit last night. He was in the middle of a triple head clash! [eusa_doh
Never seen that before.

And was anyone else amazed that they didn't go to the video ref for Goodwin's try? Watts put up a crap bomb and I'm certain a Bulldog knocked it on before they made their break for the try.

Bulldogs certainly got the rub of the grean with that try. Cowboys were in the match but the doggies grinded out the win with the hlep of Shane Hayne.

Seemed like it went backwards to me.

I'm more shirty about Tonga's No Try. It might have been by the rules but Kimmorley had no chance of getting near Tonga and I thought he tried to tackle Webb but dived when he realised Webb was a decoy runner.

Agreed fozz, that was a bad call. Tonga is in great form atm tho isnt he. Pity him and Hicky both couldnt finish the match coz of head clashes

Don't care if the Cowboys were dudded - because that was a great result for the Broncos! icon_thumbs_u

They didn't show many replays of it, but it looked to me like Watts kicked it, a Bulldogs player tried to catch it and the ball bounced from his hands/forearms forward into the chest of a Cowboys player, then a Bulldog picked up the ball and made a break. That's a knock on.

Just like against the Storm, the Cowboys should've been a MILE in front at half time. If they don't have one of, if not the best, forward packs in the game at the moment I don't know who does. They can offload, they consistently make 10-15m per ruck, and they just do it all game every game. The backs just can't get their passes to stick!

Cows need to lose Ashley Graham and Ty Williams ASAP.

Bulldogs were too good they were missing 2 front rowers for most of the game and their #1 prop was out injured to start and still owned them. Go Hazem :)

Would also help if they didnt throw a thousand forward passes.

yeah they kept letting the dogs off the hook when they were well and truly on top of them.

You aren't seriously talking about the Cowboys pack are you? The fact that Thurston has to play behind this forward pack every week is a total injustice!!!

Have you been watching the games? The forwards have been physically dominating the opposition for the last couple of months. Our problem is that we don't play for the full 80 minutes and we also make way too many stupid mistakes.

Kaufusi and Manuokafoa (though he is improving) have been dissapointing but O'Donnell, Bolton, Scott, Tronc, Tamou and Rapira have been excellent for the whole year. Webb is Webb, he is effective some games, others he is MIA.

Bolton especially has been great, if he keeps up this kind of form he could be playing for QLD in the next year or two.

I'd hardly call that the best pack in the comp. If it was they'd be leading the comp with Thurston and Bowen playing behind it. They have talent no doubt but way too inconsistent.

I agree, not the best pack in the comp, a lot of potential though and they are playing well at the moment.

Thurston and Bowen and Co. are the ones letting the team down, not the forwards. Did you watch the game on Friday night? Did you watch the game vs the Storm the other week? The cowboys forward pack were just running over the top of both opposition teams, offloading, drawing all the defenders in, giving their backs a tonne of room to move........but the backs kept dropping it, throwing forward passes, going into touch, doing bad kicks etc.

Just because your forward pack is going great guns doesn't mean the backs will be too, and that's exactly what's happening at the Cowboys at the moment. As great as Thurston is, what he's doing just isn't 'sticking' at the moment. It's a real shame too, because behind that forward pack he would usually be setting up 6-7 tries a match, but at the moment they're hard pressed getting over the line twice.

We had to restructure our attack when we lost Aaron Payne for the season.

IMO we look more dangerous with the new structure and create a lot of oppurtunities but they just can't finish them off most of the time.

Having Grant Rovelli and Anthony Watts in key positions doesn't help, they are prone to making a lot of errors but we don't have any better options at the moment (Well Tom Humble would be great at 5/8 but I don't think he is going to get picked).

Hasn't he though, he has been an absolute revelation - and that was really not an overhype - he will play for Qld (though he'd be glad hes not a dirty NSWer, otherwise he'd never get a run
