One thing about Rusty though - at least he did come in and put his money where his mouth is. Ray Martin, Andrew Denton, Alan Jones and all those other high profile Souths supporters who were all over the media when the did get kicked out, aren't short of a quid either - wonder how much they kicked in.

And George Piggins? Definitely a few too many head knocks in his playing days. If Russell and Peter hadn't come in and bought the club they would have fallen over well and truly before now. It's only because of them that Souths do still have a chance to really turn things around - but the fans do have to be more than just talk.

My understanding is that Denton et al offered to financially support the club but Piggins basically said no way, because he didn't want to "owe" them anything...which was code for "I want to be the hero".

I can't be bothered reading everyones replies but all I can say is its a membership stunt. Thats alllll it is.

I know me...my family...and friends from footy never expected Rusty to keep putting money into the club. Anyone who thinks that is stupid...honestly stupid. He has done a lot for Souths so far and will continue to do stuff in the background.
