Is it just me or does the current team lack excitement? I feel like we are missing the gig hits of a Teo or Carroll, the speed and finishing of Yow Yeh or Walker, the beautiful passing game and guile of Langer or Lockyer and the list goes on.

Maybe I'm just feeling depressed about this season but interested to hear others take on it.

Nah, you nailed it.

I'd say that the entire fanbase is dissatisfied with the current line-up. If we were 6 & 8 but had a few highlights or players to celebrate I believe fans would be a lot more tolerant than they are but it just isn't there. Right now, our best player with a bullet is Corey Parker and he's really just a work-rate player.

Hopefully Tasi brings on the hits in the coming weeks.

It's an extremely average team in terms of excitement. Parker plays great but he's not exactly flashy. Wallace is a turd and Prince really doesn't do anthing to excite. Hoffman is a great finisher and he and Reed have provided a great combination but neither are true x-factor players. There's Hodges and Gillett down the right who both do some awesome things, but outside of those two, I'm never that excited to see what our players can do.

Team definitely needs more Shaun Johnson.

Some flashes of brilliance by the Norman-Reed-Hoffman play but other than that we just aren't in contention for anything.

Expect more of the same for 2014 at this rate.

Shaun Johnson would solve all our problems. Sign him for next year, him and Locke.

Need Kearney to have some choice words with SJ to bring him across.

SJ would be choice, bro.

Yeah when well you guys were waffling on about how good '92 was and that the kids these days wouldn't fully appreciate it, it just reminded me how good we were in the '90s. So good in fact that there was a point when I was cheering on the Crushers because in my mind the Broncos were just too good and didn't need my support. You don't appreciate it until it's gone, that's for sure.

We actually have quite a few missiles. Problem is, there is no guidance system.

When locky retired that also meant the x factor in hodges also retired. Now he just a dummy half runner.

It's probably time for some changes. I'm not one for the wholesale dropping of players but maybe one or two changes and a few positional swaps might do the trick. Our bench is in dire straits. I'm convinced that's a big reason why we've struggled to put together a quality 80 minuter performance. Apart from good signs from Hala, none of them come on and make the impact they should be.

Does anyone know why Granville never got another game? He showed a lot of potential against the Titans and didn't get much game time against the Bulldogs. Why was he dropped? The whole team were dreadful that night. Another example is Nick Slyney. He had the occasional game here and there and didn't really shame himself. He's disappeared without a trace. Why is Dunamis Lui perpetually our 19th man? What is the end game with Ben Hunt? C'mon Hook, with some of these players it's time to either **** or get off the pot.

It's frustrating persisting with the same side expecting a different result. Either mix the line-up a tad or start coming up with a different game plan.

Disagree. Hodges is not just a dummy half runner, he's one of the best centres in the game and is still our most dangerous back. Hodges certainly fits the bill of x factor except it's harder to make an impact from centre yet he still does.

Well the courier mail has made out Taylor to be our saviour at halfback, now the expectations grow ten fold and his development will probably go the way of Hunt's knowing how well the club have handled developing halves since Ben Walker.

Nah you're 100% right. The fact the club wanted to build the team around Peter Wallace post Lockyer says it all. He's as exciting as paint drying.

And with Yow Yeh injured, there's absolutely no flair in our team. At all.

The article on Ash Taylor and the talk about him leads me to believe that we have no other half options in mind.

I agree with the OP

I sat down with my 14yo boy and popped on a game from 92

He couldn't believe the excitement and the style of play

It was all about keeping the ball alive - very entertaining stuff

At one point he said I just saw more offloads in one set than I normally see in a half

we have been the most boring team in the comp for two years now. its pretty rare, even after a solid win, that you sit back and go 'wow that was an exciting game'. our wins come from solid football but theres not much flash.

i posted a month or so ago that the first thing to get right was the attitude. that looks to have improved in the last two weeks. if we can keep building on that, that leads to more offloads, more support runners - generally just players who want to be there and WANT to do well for each other. good things happen when you play positively.

This article backs up what you were saying.

THIS Broncos team is the club's most disciplined in the past six seasons and are awarded more penalties than almost all NRL sides, yet their finals hopes are dwindling as they face reigning premiers Melbourne tonight.Fox Sports Stats reveals the Broncos have stolen the title of the NRL's greatest grinders from their opponents, the Storm.
However, unlike Cameron Smith's men, the Broncos' predictable attack cannot turn greater opportunities with the ball into points.
The Broncos complete 79.5 per cent of their sets, the best in the NRL and the club's best in the past six years.
On the flip-side, Brisbane have scored just two of their 52 tries from over halfway this year, the fewest of any team.
