They will though because these awards are rarely accurate.

Dally M player of the year: Jonathan Thurston
Provan summons medal: Jonathan Thurston
Rookie of the year: Jack Bird but given Munsters recent form.....Hastings a smokey as well tbh
Representative player of the year: Corey Parker
Coach of the year: Benny but likely Robinson. 3 minor premierships in a row etc
Captain of the year: Cameron Smith
Headline moment of the year: Origin 3
Holden cup Player: Ash Taylor

Fullback: Roger Tuivasa Shek
Wing: Semi Radradra
Centre: Blank, no real standouts that I can think of.
Five Eighth: Morgan, Maloney or Austin
Halfback: Jonathan Thurston
Prop: Matt Scott, Bromwich. Aaron Woods a smokey, he was fairly high up in the Dally M's when they wen silent from memory
Hooker: Cameron Smith
Second rower: Wade Graham
Lock: Corey Parker

Are the positional awards based on how many good games a player has or will they just give the halfback award to DCE again?

It will be a joke if they do especially as Thurston was playing halfback all year

It's more of a prediction than an actual pick.

Hayne still has an agreement with the NRL and his presence in the NFL has generated some publicity for the NRL as well. Hence there's a link and given how much the story has been flogged, I believe that's the way they'll go.

Otherwise the story should be about Game III.

Or Bennett's Broncos Revival.

Roosters 12 straight or Cowboys 11 straight (after losing 3 to begin the season).

Those are really the only positive stories to emerge.

If they were being truthful, the big headliners were...

The Gold Coast Drug Charges
Daly Cherry-Evans backflip
Parramatta self-destructing
Good Friday Projectiles

If I had to name a team of the year out of those picks

1: Roger Tuivasa-Shek
2: Semi Radradra
3: James Roberts
4: Will Chambers
5: Valentine Holmes
6: Blake Austin
7: Jonathan Thurston
8: David Klemmer
9: Cameron Smith
10: Jesse Bromwich
11: Aiden Guerra
12: Wade Graham
13: Corey Parker

Coach: Shane Flanagan

I went for Blake Austin as I couldn't leave him out as he had a stormer of a year which I didn't predict at all and I couldn't leave him out. I went for Flangan as coach as I personally thought last year there was signs here at the Broncos last year that we were coming together and there were positives to take out of last year when nothing positive whatsoever could be said of the Sharks of 2014 apart from Holmes and Bird debuting.

That's how I see it personally. Can't split Morgan and Maloney and I'm buggered if I know which coach. I don't think Flanagan deserves a mention although from the spoon to finals is an achievement. 3 Minor premierships in a row is an achievement as well but the previous 2 shouldn't count towards him this year. For mine, it comes down to Wayne and Green because they've got their sides firing at the right time.

*by deserves a mention I mean in that group of coaches.

I think it's easy to leave Austin out.

Quite a few times, when the Raiders needed him to step up and guide the team to victory, he couldn't do it.

Josh Morris? He's not even the best Morris brother, let alone top 4 centres in the game.

Yeah, I mostly agree with Harry Sack. 5/8th is between Baloney and Morgan - they were conisistently good the entire year. Austin finished poorly, Milford started poorly.

Front rower is a tough one. Bromwich mostly goes well, but he can really go missing too, like against the Cows.

Jorris is one of those "we can't come up with a 4th entry" selections.

I actually think the journos got it close to the mark.

Sure, Bulldog Ritchie clearly had a few deciding votes here. How else can you explain Greg Eastwood making the ballot? However, they got the contenders right and a lot of their picks can be justified.

Rookie of the year will be tough to pick it's been a boom year for them. Bird, Holmes, Munster, Grevshmul, Mybe, that Roosters lock, Evans etc

Holmes, Mbye and Evans are not eligible.

It's pretty much between Bird and Munster.

I think Bird will win it.
