Darren Lockyer, Not a worthy Immortal.

I swear old has beens write garbage such as this to get their name back in the spotlight. I mean if he wrote a column saying Lockyer should be the next immoral, most people would probably agree and it wouldn't even be given a second thought, but if he writes something controversial like this, it will get quoted everywhere.

Not just oldies. Nuffies too.

I think I might submit an article to The Punch to say that Dally Messenger was the most overrated player in the history of rugby league and that our player of the year award should be named after Paul Carige instead. Because if you ask anyone what Dally M did, they wouldn't be able to tell you. But everyone remembers "That game" in 1998.

I think this has been twisted a bit. I think what he's trying to say is that there are more people in front of Lockyer, and that Lockyer shouldn't be number 8.

Really?

"As wonderful a player he has been, Darren Lockyer does not belong in the top echelon of those to have played the game," Peters wrote in an internet column.

"Is he any better than other great Queenslanders Gene Miles, Mal Meninga, Allan Langer, the Walters brothers, et al? He's in that league, just not superior to it."

On par with Mal imho.

That's certainly the case if you take post-playing career (ie coaching) success into it. Ignoring Mal's mediocre success with an aging Canberra team, his Origin coaching record is unbelievable and would certainly give him "immortal" status in a way Locky hasn't (yet) and may never.

I haven't seen much footage of Bob Fulton playing, but I'm sure his outstanding coaching record with Australia, Manly and the Roosters counted towards him getting in the first list.

Who is Peter Peters and when did his opinion become worthy of being published for public viewing. His parents must have loved him what a **** head name.
Love it, hahahahahahahaha.

Peter Peters, LOOOOOOOL.

Peter Peters, LOOOOOOOL.
Was at Brookvale oval last week and the newspaper they gave out for free at the game (was a very handy seat to sit on the rain soaked hill) had a front cover article called "brothers in arms" with a picture of brett & glenn stewart, then i saw the byline "peter peters" and didn't even bother opening the newspaper. That's his level of journalism. Lol.

Pleasantly surprised to see Shane Webcke on the back of the paper. I sat on him instead. haha.

Was it all of Webcke or just his face that you sat on?

As long as Peter Peters(LOL lovely name) was used as toilet paper :)

Peter Peters, lmao .. what a fat ball of piss and wind. Even as a 10-year old I knew I hated that pricck when he'd waddle out as part of the CH 10 commentary lot and shyt-can the Broncos at every opportunity.

He's one of those old school crocodiles who think Queensland should be grateful just to be allowed in the NSWRL .. People like him who harbour those staunch anti-Queensland biases are a really shytty element of Rugby League that I can't stand ... What's he even doing writing anything that the general public can read ? He belongs in Belgium ffs
