With Stagg in the halves and Perry in the team. Yeah, right.

No...Wallace and Stagg in the halves.

What drugs are you on - We only have to endure Stagg and Perry on 1 more occasion.[/quote:jp0y9odj]

The new St George coach will continue to play Stagg at 5/8 and Perry off the bench.

So the drug I'm on is Valium as we begin the familiar SLIDE.

Ennis - good player he is is showing he is no leader. Same for Marsh.

So we continue to be a one-man band. If it can't be Locky, we'll put all the pressure on Wallace.

Prediction: We won't win another game against any team in the top 10 until Lockyer returns - if he does this year which is doubtful.

I'll lay odds NOW we won't make the 8.

The slide will be a horrible one this year. Top players leaving, and the coach who doesn't give a rats anymore on the way, there is nothing in the team.

Agree with the above. Won't be in the finals this year.

Anyone doubting Wayne Bennett's integrity like that obviously has no clue about the man whatsoever.

We're specials to make the finals again. Fair dinkum I've never known fans who give up on their team so easily.

Then Wayne Bennett should put down the Dragons cheque book, and focus purely on the Broncos. Or stand aside and give the job to someone with no other interests apart from the Broncos.

We will make the finals if Stagg plays less than 50% of our matches in the halve. Case Closed.

I agree not doubting his intergrity at all, but surely the fact he has signed next year and is looking to improve their roster has an impact on this years team.

good luck to locky hopefully hes back at his best playing 80 minute football soon enough

The man is experienced enough to handle all that is on his plate at the moment and has faced far bigger challenges in his life and come out successful. Not saying it has no impact on the team at all but to say he doesn't give a rats is an insult to all he has done for the club for more than two decades.

Ok, rnabokov, I'll take that.

Lets say $100, unless you have a better wager you'd like to place. otherwise, right here, in this public forum, we can go the $100.

What price you offering him Hammo? And what price would you give me for them to make the 8 ? :D

most of the final games are at home, so i can definetly see us making the 8. easy bet imo.

$100 it is, although I should say I erred in my post by NOT saying "we won't make the 8 unless Lockyer resumes and plays 80 minutes football in consecutive matches, whatever remains of his season.

Nevertheless, my post is what it was and so I stand by it - in relation to making the 8. icon_smile

As for giving up on the team, I'm not. I'm calling it as I see it based on past performances. In fact, I ALWAYS back the Broncos to win with cold hard cash and will continue to do so for the rest of this year.

As for Bennett's "integrity", my criticism of him remains the same as always: his player selection practices and bench rotation.

He won't take risks and give younger players the opportunities they need, now especially, given the 'mass exodus' for next year.

I think a few other posters have also mentioned his track record with Thaiday and Taylor, as well as his persistence with Perry - and Stagg at 5/8.

At least however we got to see Hoffman get a go, and as posted before, I'd like to see him at the back while Hunt's away, and in place of Robinson on the wing when Hunt returns.

Up until now I beleived Lockyer was doing all the right stuff. The knee was apparently structurally sound, so he played. Then he got pain from the cartlidge tear, so he got it operated on and played after he experience no pain. Lets remember his healing abilities he has showed in the past. he always comes back form injury earlier than most. After this latest setback, it looks like there is nothing else to fall back on, it appears rest is his only option.

Form a Bronocs point of view I'd like to see him get whatever need to be done to fix the problem and rest it up until it is 100%. In the mean time Stagg out of 5/8th and I'd like to see a geniune ball player given a shot at the 5/8th spot. I actually agreed with Gus gould (shock horror i know) on one point over the weekend. I reckon give a player like Joel Moon a shot. Get him in there and say give it your best, no pressure. he seemed when he got his hands on the ball he didn't got o bad over the weekend. His kicks weren't to bad either. Leave the pressure up to Wallace. Not to mention the benefit it would have blooding a new player!

Also, i think we should replace Robinson with Hoffman. Hoffman looked superb under the highball on Friday night! Far more stable than Robinson is atm.

What a shoe in...mal, you'll have to ask him what odds he's giving, I laid $100 on us making the 8! In fact, I reckon now Locky is out of SoO2 and probably SoO3, Hodges relaxing his shoulder with an extended break, we are going top 4. If Wallace stays healthy, with Ennis and PJ (we'd be hella unlucky to lose both) and at worst a "fresh" pack, things aren't looking that back for the ride toward September.

P.S. You really reckon we wouldn't make the 8 (in how many seasons?) when nuff nuff is retiring?
