As an all-round footballer, I'd give Johns the nod slightly, but Lockyer's record is second to none. As others have mentioned, Lockyer was the best 'clutch' player ever. His ability to pull off the winning play, time and again, when the game was on the line was unbelievable.

Greatest career of all-time, probably one of the best to lace up a pair of boots too - absolutely spoiled Rugby League for me because there aren't going to be as many as good as him again. Sure, there will be (and there are) better athletes, but I don't think many will have the total package of instincts, persona, ability etc.

If nothing else, he made an impression on my life and some of my fondest memories will be sitting in-front of the television or heading down to Suncorp and having the privilege to barrack for him.
