David Klemmer

Does it matter in the end? The aim of it was to get underneath their skin or to provide his team with a bit of fire - he's seemingly achieved that objective, and rustled a lot of fans' jimmies in the process. I'd say he's been wildly successful in his approach.

I think you should be asking why no one from Qld said **** this and got up in his face? Are they scared of him?

Regarding Parker, I love the guy, but his comments do him no service. Origin is the last place to ask for respect. You either take it from them, or do without.

Agree....I cringed when I heard that Parker had said this. If I was Klemmer....I would have said exactly the same thing!

Yep.....best way to "learn" this boy.....is to smash the **** out of him

....in a legal tackle, of course.

Asking for respect doesn’t mean go easy on me; Parker would want it to be as hard as it can be but within that you can still be acknowledge who you’re playing against and the fact you’re a rookie who hadn’t done too much at all.

It was an incident early in the game that made Parker mad then when they came together again he told him to show respect.

What Klemmer said that’s not sledging that is abuse; nothing smart about it or clever it doesn’t prey on any insecurity that the opposition may have. It’s just low brow abuse.

The quickest way for older players to think what a tool and wipe you is to behave above your station. Doesn't matter what sport you play you don't come in your first test and tell everyone how you're better than Bradman and abuse guys who have done it all.

Has anyone ever seen Klemmer fight someone who has heir hands up and are ready for him or does he only punch people who won't punch back?

I don't really have a dog in the origin fight so my unbiased opinion is what a legend.

For almost a decade QLD has dominated (with a very unchanged side). Some of the older blues had lost so much that they were mentally broken by it. Even if the skill was there, they had become so used to losing and to being the outside odds that they'd celebrate near victories.
They're defeatist attitudes would rub off on all the new blood that came through.

Lorry cut most of them free and found some kids who hadn't felt the years of submission. Klemmer marched onto the field and says "**** history, **** reputation, **** achievements. Out here none of that matters. We both want the same thing and I dare you to try and take it from me".

It was rude, crude, and gen y as ****. It is also exactly the attitude shift the blues needed.
