Dell's League return *news story added*

Re: Dell's League return

H-man it brought a tear to my eye seeing him in that dragons jersey, it's just not right.

Can't wait to see him back on the field though. I love the big man... just don't love some of his choices that he's made off the field.

If he returns against the Broncos in round 14, then how many of the current Broncos team has he played with?

Lockyer, Carroll..?

Hodges maybe?

As a result of stumbling over his guts. Looking like Grant Hackett at the moment, old Dell. Park footy should sort him out though :P

Re: Dell's League return

Wendell will go well. He'll score a tonne of tries, especially ducking in low to get his nose onto that white line :P

Re: Dell's League return

Considering playing on the wing in Union is pretty much doing nothing, he should be pretty well rested.

I have no problems with him coming back and will withold judgement till I see him in action. Rest can do a lot of things for a player, and it sounds like he is commited to losing a few kilos.

Hope he does well.

Re: Dell's League return

I have personally seen first hand what Dell has done behind the scenes to get his carrier back on track, also seen the countless meeting with kids out bush and everywhere else in between to speak about how stupid he was to do what he did, how he threw his life away. And how its hard work and not talent that get you to the top.

Everyone only see what he does in front of the camera, and trust me this is the guy Mundine takes tips off in self promotion. But Dell like countless other footballers that we all love and hate do soooo much more that most of the public will never know about, then there are some who couldn't give a rats arse and we'll never know that these guys are prick but angels in front of the camera.

I'm a Dell fan!! icon_thumbs_u

Re: Dell's League return

I have always been a Dell fan - used to hang out with him a bit before he went to the dark side. (I know how hard it was for him when he did that too). And unlike a lot of other high profile people who get busted for drugs, he is genuinely sorry and also a bit ashamed of himself for doing it and he is prepared to do basically anything to make ammends - it's not just for show.

Sailor scores twice in comeback

May 17, 2008

WENDELL Sailor scored two tries in a successful return to rugby league.

Sailor, playing in his first game after a two-year ban for cocaine use, bagged a double in the Shellharbour Marlins' 30-22 win against the Erina Eagles in the Jim Beam Cup.

The dual-international's first try came 67 minutes into the Ron Costello Oval clash when he fielded a cross-kick and touched down just wide of the post. That sent the estimated 3,000 faithful into raptures.

However, the man with the rockstar reputation proved his ability to put on a show when he barged over for another try seven minutes later.

That try put the Marlins ahead 28-22 and gave the Marlins the lead for good.

Despite the fairytale comeback, Sailor saw some points he needed to work on before making a return to the NRL with St George Illawarra.

“I was a bit disappointed at dropping two balls and missing a tackle,†he said. “But it was an alL right return first up.â€Â

Sailor was relieved just to be back on the field.

“Just for my family and the supporters who I let down, everyone in rugby league has welcomed me back with open arms,†he said.

whats the bet he debuts for dragons against broncos in a couple of weeks........big crowd puller!!!

Slip of the tongue from Dell on WWOS this morning. Was talking about what he realistically expects from his return and said first thing is to force his way into the 17 for the Broncos before the end of the season [icon_lol1.

Heard that too - he's a Bronco at heart alright!

Great to see the Big Dell do well in his first game. He should be commended for the approach he's taken since his mistake... and the work he has been doing on the streets!

I think Big Dell has matured alot since he left league (maybe since his trouble). He really seems to be a humbled and honest bloke.

Doing good things.
