I think we left half way through the game, and secondly I left because of work the next day and I was giving FB a ride home.

Just because some leaves a game early doesn't always mean there soft...assumptions are the mother of all **** ups.

Stand alone weekend for the ANZAC test? How much is the AFL celebrating right now? They put on a full round of games, whilst the NRL plays just two games that I'm sure people care far less about than ordinary club games.

Who gets excited about Australia playing New Zealand in a Rugby League game? I'm guessing the total number of people is a LOT less than the people who get excited about a decent round of club games.

As for City Country, there goes one state of television viewers. What a win for QLD AFL. If they are smart the Lions and Suns will be playing that week.

A big benefit of this is with a dedicated bye round for the whole comp there will half the amount of weeks compared to now that have less than 8 games.

I hate weeks with less games, and I would love two stand alone weekends so every team go byes at the same time and no half rounds of footy.

On the flip side it means we have one less bye to use around origin period but if it's going to Monday then I guess that's countered by the extra rest.

Cricket is different as you're interested in the contest the whole time. Can't say the same for a Bulldogs-Toidans game.

The concept could work and it would be great value for money if the ticket prices were standard.

I've been to all three double headers to date at Lang Park. Left after the first game in 2009 and 2010 and hung around for the second game this year (bad decision - worst game of football I've ever seen). I doubt I'd hang around for three games though. Like another poster said my interest tends to wane when the Broncos aren't playing. Then again if it's an attractive game I might be tempted to stay (any game with West Tigers).

Double Headers are strange. The crowd is so transient and I've found the atmosphere rather subdued compared to a normal home game (which is saying something)...

And I also wanted to leave because as I stated previously, I am not interested enough in a non-Broncos game to watch it at Suncorp. I will support my team as much as possible, but other teams I am more than happy to watch on the tele
