Eels and Broncos will kick-off 2016 season

The NRL will launch the season on Thursday night March 3 with a colossal showdown between superstar Parramatta Eels signing Kieran Foran and the Broncos’ Anthony Milford.

The match will kick-off at 8pm at Pirtek Stadium and be shown live on Channel Nine.

Original plans to do a traditional season launch with the premiers have been scrapped at the request of the Cowboys who asked to keep their more fan friendly Saturday night timeslot.

The NRL draw is expected to be released this week, three weeks earlier than last season. The Broncos-Eels blockbuster will attract a full house at Pirtek Stadium.

Parra at Pirtek could be tougher than it looks, especially with their new signings.

We haven't had a comprehensive win down there since 2006 when we won 23-0. Unless you count the 18-6 win in 2012, but I wouldn't count that.

We've lost 3 and won 3 at that stadium since then.

Won by 4 in 2010 and 2011. Won by 12 in 2012.

Lately, they have been one of those sides that have been a real pain in the ass. With Foran running the show, it could turn out bad for us.
