Marcus looks over the moon to be playing football again at Villa

I hope he kills it and he either gets sold to Villa or Barca come up with the money for him but I think it's a pretty safe bet it's going to be a failure.

Marcus is a talented footballer but he lets the wrong people influence him. Until he ***** off his entourage, he's never going to change. Even then he still might not change.

Spurs offer Bayern a permanent deal for Tel. Tel says no.

Tel says he wants United. United offer a loan deal with no buy option. Bayern reject it because they wanted an obligation to buy.

Tel to Spurs now official. Loan deal with no buy option. Spurs have Richarlison so that's a strange decision.

Who's in charge of negotiating the deals? Only thing I can think of is Bayern wanted a ridiculous loan fee.

5 million loan fee apparently.

He's 27 years old, clearly knows what being a decent person means looking at the work he does off the field, so i'm not sure the excuse about letting the wrong people influence him is a valid one. He's been the stereotypical United player of recent times and the exact opposite of the good work he does. He's arrogant, selfish and only thinks of himself. Getting rid of players like that is the first step to United becoming a top side again.

That doesnt seem an extortionate loan fee tbh in this day and age.
If he was an established striker I think it would be more reasonable, but given he's just a prospect, it's unlikely he'll start many games and so you'd have to ask if it was worth it on another project player.

Credit to United, they didn't dump 60 mill on him like they did with Rasmus. Maybe they are learning.

Loan fees across the board seem pretty expensive these days, 5 million seems normal which is a crazy thing to think about. I agree though, he's probably not the sort of signing they need.

If i were united, i'd give up on looking to buy big name superstars and look at bringing in good characters who turn up and play well every week.

If I were United, as much as this would be a foreign concept to them given the last 30 years, I would shelve any title or cup ambitions for a season or two and get back to building a solid base. The ghosts of their past success are killing their team. It's not the 90's or 00's anymore and they are a million miles away from being there. Forget the past, take your medicine, focus on hungry players that aren't there for the money but are there to prove themselves. Start doing what United used to do and look at performing players in the EPL in the bottom half of the table and start filling out their squad with them.

Once you've got a reliable set of players that will get you competing for the 4-8 spots in the table, start looking at adding the premium players who'll take you to the next level.

I hope Amorim has a really good plan for rotating players, mostly the likes of Garnacho and Amad so they don't burn out.

We could have brought in two attacking players in January but we chose not to.

We didn't need to dump 60 million on Tel. The issue turned out to be that United didn't want to pay the loan fee. We could have got him on a loan deal with no obligation to buy and another winger on a loan deal.

If they sucked, we could have just given them back at the end of the season. But they still would have allowed us to rest our most creative players every now and then.

We have to win either the FA Cup or Europa League to stay in Europe. I don't see how we do either of those with no depth. If we don't, that's 50 million gone from our books next season and with the debt payment that's totaling to over 100 million.

That's going to have a big impact on our ability to buy the players we need in the summer.
