We were, comprehensively. Yet again. Scoreline just papers it over.

We only had high possession as they dropped deeper to end the game, we had **** all good shots, terrible attacking passing, and woeful defending and goalkeeping on both their goals and other set pieces.

These players actively make the wrong decisions time and time again. Zirkzee going for passes (terribly) rather than taking shots. Dalot refusing to fucking overlap and cross when it's wide open (he only did it after Ugarte fucking coached him into doing it).

It's just so painful to watch.

Yeah I was just waiting for this. Players aren't robots they can't play at a high unforgiving level every game. I realise that's the standard he expects but you can only do it so long with a thin squad. I do think any true fan could see this coming.

As for Sterling we couldn't buy any of the attackers we wanted at the time and the only reason we signed him is because we loaned Reiss Nelson out. He was a emergency buy in the last few hours of the transfer window because we were already dangerously short in attack. I won't hang that one completely over Arteta. The upper echelon's have as much to answer for as him (and that's not even taking into consideration the January transfer window )
