FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

Probs not getting away without parting a good 60-70 unless hes got some sort of hidden clause. Brighton will back themselves imo.

Brighton will stick to their guns, they will want 100 million.

I thought it was reported not that long ago they were a lot more open this summer to letting him go than they were last season, on account of him being nowhere near as good this season.

Not arguing they'll want good money, of course, but United had already been talking to them last summer, have apparently still been keen all season, just think for United a deal they have already started is right up their alley.

Guess we'll see. If they drop 100m for him after this season he's had than nobody at that club has learnt a thing.

I'm amazed for the price we are letting him go for nobody else but Athletico have come in for Joao Gomes. He's a bargain at that price and in a better team than our shit show he's going to be very good.

West Ham reportedly want at least £50 million for Fernandes.

If we want to sign him, we've got to get in quick otherwise that price will just go up.

£40 million for Ederson, at least £50 million for Fernandes (we could probably get him for £40 million plus £10 million in add-ons), Real Madrid reportedly want at least £70 million for Tchouameni, and if we end up going for Tonali he will cost more. I can't really see us signing Baleba this season.

If we end up in a situation where we sign Ederson, Fernandes and Baleba and we don't get either Tonali or Tchouameni, for mine that's a failure on our part.

I think we'll end up with Fernandes, Ederson and Baleba if they sign 3, drop Baleba if we sign 2. The hype about Ederson from some of the United accounts I follow is ridiculous. Let's not pretend for a second these people have watched him week in week out. I actually hate this time of year.

Tyler Adams as a possibility instead of Fernandes/Baleba at a guess, looking at values & experience of midfield options. He's also been linked previously.

I'll happily be surprised if wrong, but think the likes of Anderson, Tonali, Bruno G and Tchouameni are a pipe dream.

Until stuff is announced though, who knows. Can hardly believe 90% of the shit posted.

Anthony Gordon to Barca for €80 million.

Hopefully that doesn't hurt the chances of Rashford staying at Barca.

Telling United they can't afford Rashford due to all their shit going on and dropping that much on Gordon lol

I think a good move for Rashford would be somewhere like Brighton, Bournemouth or even Spurs under De Zerbi if he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Problem is Rashford's ego would get in the way and he won't make a move to those clubs because he thinks those clubs are beneath him.

He wants to play for trophies and won't join a club where he's little chance of getting one. Personally, I think Brighton would be perfect for him.

I like Rashford, and I'd probably argue his best he probably is above Brighton level.

Problem is getting him to play at that level regularly.

It may not impact the Barca deal, they are losing their main striker in Lewand, so he'd still be playing.

I reckon there are plenty of sides capable of winning either of the cups plus European trophies at clubs like those. Look at Palace for example. Rashford could and should be the player that pushes them towards more success.

I reckon its wages with him. They probably dont want to be lumbered with a player on huge money who has shown he doesn't have the best work ethic or attitude. when things dont suit him. They also seem to have turned their attention to Alvarez. Puzzles me how they can just find the money when they need it.

Now they're preparing a bid for Julian Alvarez which is reportedly going to be in the region of €100 million.

€180 million spent on two players and they can't afford 30 for Rashford. Makes sense.

It's not about what they can afford... they just don't want to pay that price for Rashford.

Konate gone to PSG. For free.

Always on the cards when talks initially stalled.
TBH, not overly devo. He is a good player yes but he's been inconsistent for a while now.

Its Rashfords wages too. They're outrageous
Didn't he offer to take a 50% pay cut? Either way Gordon wouldn't be on much less.

It's a huge loss because no real good CBs on the market and he's a $60-80mil asset walking out the door for free (after TAA). It's not as if he's old, given us his best years, and is going to a mid table club. He's in his prime and going to literally the best team in the world. If he's good enough for them he's more than good enough for us.
Too many LFC fans have their heads in the sand about our current situation under Slot and Hughes.

Things are a mess. Jones and Gomez will be next. Hopefully they can calm Alisson down and get him to agree to stay.
