FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

It's as much on Ange as anyone TBH. He said he would wait for the right opportunity then signs on with Not Forest . According to Boza that squad was the opposite to how Ange likes to play.
Surely he should put his ego aside and go with the squad he has and make gradual changes.

I thought it would end badly to him. Knowing first hand how Nuno likes to play, he's the opposite of Nuno.

Saying that, Ange was hopeless there. He didnt adapt his principles and style to suit the players he had at his disposal. Just shows to me how good a job Nuno did and how good a manager actually is. He gets way more out of his teams than he should really.

Lots of talk about team selection today but Arne Slot not playing Mo Salah was a massive mistake.

Good win for you boys @Brocko @Super Freak @BroncsFan
Big problems for us, Salah needs a spell and we need to work out whatever our best 11 is and go with it. If that means benching some of our expensive signings, so be it.

Big test for Arne. His team, his signings, his tactics. Nowhere to hide.

Frankfurt are leaking goals for fun lately, so a good chance to get the attacks confidence back in UCL.

He's 100% responsible for how we're playing at the moment. He's looking completely out of his depth tactically and not learning from previous games or substitutions. I simply can't put any of our deficiencies on the ployers; especially when they go away and perform well for their countries.

I don't mind needing a transition season but its scary how imbalanced we are. Even scarier is how he's either ignoring it or completely oblivious to the fundamentals - reminds me a lot of Rodgers after the 13/14 season. Right now it looks more like he luckily stumbled upon a formation that worked last season rather than some sort of coaching ingenuity like he was credited for.

I hoped the international break would be a chance for him and his coaching team to reflect and sort it out, seems they didn't use that time at all.

Anyway, I don't want him gone or anything like that, it's just going to be an enormous test for him to turn this around. Needs to drop the stubborness, start playing to our strengths and stop playing favourites when it comes to team selection.

4 straight losses and Liverpool fans are already calling for his head. It's wild how fickle football fans can be during a rough patch. It's like as soon as there's any adversity, it's sack the manager time.

Bloke just needs to simplify things. Stop playing favourites, play players in their preferred positions and tweak his tactics to what he knows works in the PL.

He's getting criticism for ignoring exactly those things you say he should be doing there.

I don't think our fans want him sacked, we can just see the same things you're seeing and we don't understand why it isn't changing.

Im sure there are some fairweathers that are calling for his head, but theyre probably newcomers that arent used to seeing us struggle (relative our normalish status, obvs nothing like some our forum friends and their sides).

Reality is hes got credit in the bank for last seasons title and he'd really have to shit the bed this season for us to consider sacking him.

Anythings possible i guess but if this is our transition season while we move away from our previous playstyle and reliance on some of our players, I'm happy to cop it.

Yeah same, I certainly haven't given up on this season but I have accepted we're now in transition and we may have to adjust our expectations.

I'm fine without silverware, I just want to see him fully commit to the new style and use Wirtz, Frimpong etc., rather than this in-between hybrid philosophy that isn't working. He needs to find a system that suits Salah, or drop him entirely.

Some big calls need to be made if we want to improve but so far it's disheartening the manager doesn't seem to want to make them.

Nice to break the losing streak but hard to read too much into that game, Frankfurt were so open and you're never going to get that time and space in the EPL.

Dom and Wirtz were excellent however.

I wouldn't say Salah stunk it up when he came on but he's just so desperate for a goal it's impacting the rest of the team. I'd be inclined to leave him on the bench for now and let the others continue to grow.

haha i was thinking of your post when we were bending them over. nice call mate.
Unfortunately, nothing astonishing. Couldn't even get good value if you tried on you winning comfortably. Your attack even down on form was always going to run straight through that team.

I just want the weekend now. Few good games, and our game vs Brighton is huge. This past weekend means nothing at all if we go on to drop points vs Brighton.

same here. will be a sight to see if 35yo hendo runs through our midfield.
