PLAYER Ezra Mam

Did you hear Madge talking about it the other day? He was doing the coach thing saying it's not guarenteed. But it very much is. If he doesn't walk right back in, rocks in heads.
Things happen, but what we predict actually happens though.

Hopefully with the idea that Piakura and Smoothy are on the way out?

I do not understand how fans can watch those two players attempt to play football, and think "YEP! PICK THEM!"

Piaks has had so long to develop we run the risk of losing the next big thing. I can't get a read on him - he has (had?) the potential for so much but just hasn't come through and you fear him tackling the hip every time he attempts one. Players are onto him also so they'll tackle high as well to try and force him into HIA for 15.

honestly would be surprised if Mam doesn't go straight into our starting side as soon as he is available.

Hunt to bench Hooker, Billy starts.

No chance Hunt goes to bench, especially with Reynolds on one arm/leg and Mam not having played for 8 months.

Reynolds is a weird human, one week he looks paralysed the next week he is man of the match setting up every try.

I have given up guessing.

still surprised NSW don't pick the objectively best half back though.

Yep. Is it worth the risk for another 12 months and delaying CB? Tough decision ahead.

So what's the latest on Mam during his exile, has he perfect the 40 20s, chip and chase, kicks in goal? Or tossing bricks to the 2nd floor?

Black's not being delayed at all. Honestly, he is struggling at Cup at the moment.

Completely uninvolved in games. Hasn't had a try assist in five games. Souths had 55% of the ball made 10-line breaks, won by 20, 50 tackle breaks and the half didn't contribute at all on Sunday.

Yeah, another example of pushing out a quality experienced player due to a lack of patience to blood the next kid with a couple of quality attributes

I can't see how he can be Queensland U19 half. I said weeks ago Fein was in better form. He nearly didn't make it last year and Te'o wanted him. He was in better form playing Meninga 12 months ago then now- if they had reservations then I can't see how they don't still have them.

I don't want to sound harsh but he's just doing nothing. His two big strengths were kicking and support play.

Hard to quantify kicking without you seeing it but look at his kick metres.

Round 2-7.
268m
215m
148m
94m
135m
106m

His average over 11 Cup games has been 169m- last four have been below that average.

Even his goal kicking has fallen to 56% this year.

Paired up with Milford isn't he?

Based on those kicking stats it would seem like Milf is probably taking over as the dominant half in the team.

That's either coaching telling the team that Milf is the dominant half (probably fair enough given he was getting a million a year at one point) or he's just over calling all the time and not giving Black a chance.

Given souths are coming third last it would seem that whatever they are doing isn't working.

Milf is still only 30 and halves are playing to mid-30's at the moment... so it wouldn't surprise me if he's playing a bit of hollywood ball in the hope that he can score a deal from somewhere.

I still reckon we should have binned him…

Doesn’t seem right he’s about to play fewer than 6 months that he almost killed some people

your willingness to excuse his behaviour is telling

Didn`t come anywhere near killing anyone .
And was not under the influence when he crashed .

So what am I excusing ?
Not paying due care and attention at the wheel ?
