I can't find anything regarding an NRL fine.


Braydon Trindall, a playmaker for the Cronulla Sharks in the NRL, paid a $1,100 court-ordered fine for a drink-driving and drug-related incident:
Incident: In April 2024, Trindall was pulled over by police and tested positive for recreational drugs and had a mid-range blood alcohol reading of 0.125. He was also driving with an expired license.
Penalty: Trindall was fined and disqualified from driving for three months. He also missed more than a month of play, with the NRL including the time between the incident and his court appearance in his penalty.

I don't know if the NRL ever actually issued him with a suspension though... I think Trindall was basically on a 'no fault stand down' until his court appearance.

The NRL can't really hand down a suspension until the player is found to be guilty of something... so when police charges are in involved they have to wait until they're found guilty in court before they can hand down a punishment.

Is the JAC incident that much different?
- He failed a road side drug test and found to have coke in his system... so was driving under the influence of drugs.

I think he copped a 4 week suspension.

Wonder who I'm going to trust, the magistrate who just had the entire case and evidence laid out before him, or the mother who's trying to garner sympathy and increase the likelihood of a payout from Ezra and/or anyone affiliated with him.

The fine should be higher but the loss of license providing you have one would hurt more I’d imagine.

The broncos really need to get onto that disqualified licecnse... Ezra cannot drive at all for the next 6 months... they need to make sure he's organised himself a driver, because if he gets caught driving around on his disqualified license there will be a media shitstorm on his doorstep and I'd imagine he can then kiss that contract goodbye.

With the lack of "real world" punishment I am concerned that this may not end up being the kick in the ass ezra needed to sort himself out.

Yes he will be suspended and receive a big fine, but his job is safe and he is still being paid big money.

It's still going to cost him big time financially. Even if the insurance of the dealership covers the costs (and therefore no civil suit can be brought against him directly by the people he hit), the insurance company will hold Mam liable for these costs.

I'll certainly admit that the legal system is weak as piss. but i believe strongly that everyone should be treated equally under the law regardless of status. (so at least that happened in this case)

unfortunately as is always the case, they need to wait for a Bronco to be guilty for said highlighting to happen.

it didn't happen when JAC got caught driving under the influence of cocaine

it didn't happen when Sandon Smith caused an accident that resulted in the victim receiving fractures in his fibular and right foot as well as having two toes amputated. (p.s. he didn't even have to pay a fine. he received a conditional release order instead)

What is the penalty for driving on the wrong side of the road?

Just wondering if he got a lighter punishment because he was coked up and had a crash.

But normally it's a Bronco that gets an example made of them. Like Carrigan's "hip drop". Other team's players? All unfortunate accidents. A Bronco? THIS NEEDS TO BE STAMPED OUT RIGHT NOW AND A PRECENDENT SET. I guess the NRL still has that opportunity via whatever suspension they hand down.
