Am I not expressing mine? My opinion that those clutching pearls are just being emotional and somewhat silly? I'm not doing that in a negative or offensive way, and I'm coming with receipts to prove my point. You don't have to reply, but if you ask a question of me, I'm going to do my best to answer it.

Ok, please point out where I've said anything silly here. I believe I have just expressed an opinion and have not stated that Mam specifically has got away with anything. Yes I did make a joke about the judge being a Broncos fan, so if that is me being overly emotional about it...ok then.

He got a higher fine than Addo Carr.

Take away the fact this was a local celebrity - this would have been a small headline in the paper. The court appearance you would have just taken the day off work and no conviction recorded...

So again, how? Not to mention you'd likely have a case for unfair dismissal as there's no criminal conviction.

Unless your boss caught you under the influence of a drug, while working, or you did it in the work vehicle, there's literally no legal basis for a business to fire you over this unless your primary job is driving and you can't perform that function.

There are some similarities at this stage but I expect he has a bit more to him.
If we get our full side on the field I think he will have a field day.
As long as he doesn't get more than 6 weeks I can see him being our highest try scorer.
I'll be looking to back him getting doubles and triples in some SGMs.

Milford's off field performance was no where near as troublesome as Ezra has been.....

I can see the NRL going a little harder tbh. Especially with the "cocaine and a cocktail of drugs" narrative that's being pushed. Would be pretty funny if Madge addressed it in one of his numerous interviews atm.

The 'cocktail of other drugs' drugs narrative isn't entirely accurate though. If reporting is correct (take the Courier Mail's credibility sparingly), it was anti-inflammatories and paracetamol that were the additional drugs present in his system at the time of blood test. These were also supposedly administrated to him at the hospital post-crash. Hence, it could be argued that the judge's statement is misleading, or the reporting on the nature of the other drugs is misinformed.

That's kind of my point. There is outrage in the general public over this "cocktail" due to the way it's being reported. People see that and without looking any further assume he had a mix of coke, meth and heroine in his system while driving. That will be hard to justify given Trindall went .125 plus positive to drugs and unlicensed and got 5 weeks.
4 to 6 weeks would be about right but it is THE NRL and us.
I'm expecting 12 hoping for 4

I honestly dont see how anyone can think he hasnt got away lightly, but until the minimum penalty is raised you are always going to get sentences that dont fit the crime. Ezra has a lot to be blamed for with this saga, but its not his fault the consequences are so light.

He did get away lightly, but so does every other person in the same situation.

If he wasn't a footballer, or let's face it, or footballer for any team other than the Broncos, this would be a non-event.

They do get away lightly, thats the point i was making. The issue is the system.

I do think there would have been a fair bit of publicity no matter who did that incident, but anyone in the public eye is going to attract a lot more attention.

A Sydney criminal defence lawyer reckons the ruling will be appealed because of how poor it was in their eyes.

For what he was charged with and taking into account it's his first offence, that was a very standard punishment. I don't see it being appealed.
