PLAYER Ezra Mam

well handled by the club IMO.

I particularly like that the club have added the following as part of their sanctions:
  • A Safer Driving Training Program;
  • Ongoing work or study placement, to be designed by the Club’s Wellbeing and Education department;
  • An ongoing Wellbeing Support Program, to be designed by the Club’s Wellbeing and Education department

The NRL's suspension is BS ... but only because of how heavy handed when you compare it to other players who have committed similar offences.

while much has already been made of the Trindall and JAC cases.

there was also the Val Holmes, Munster and Latrell Mitchell examples of bringing the game into disrepute by allowing themselves to be photographed with a "white powder"

Brent Naden tested positive to cocaine during a ASADA test after the 2020 GF and only got a 5k fine and 4 weeks

finally, there Dylan Brown who was given a lighter punishment than Mam after pleading guilty to two counts of sexually touching the woman without consent (he was originally charged with 5 counts but 3 were withdrawn by police)

that is just a few of the people who have committed similar or worse offences than Mam only to receive lighter NRL punishments.

Now that the media have their pound of flesh and they outcome they wanted, hopefully they will leave well enough alone and start focusing on the upcoming footy season ... I'm not holding my breath though
I'm just waiting for the inevitable moron down south to be caught drunk and drugged up behind the wheel, but all... "well this is different because the coppers got him before he got into a crash"

It'll probably happen before the season starts up knowing the level of stupidity that is the modern league player.

**** we play some beautiful football.
Just a dream team to watch. Without doubt the most exciting & entertaining team in the league.
I honestly can't pick a favourite player atm, they all bring so much in there own way.

Favourite "Bronco" ATM Kevin (the legend) Walters.
Itchen for this season, bring it on!
Ironic they have him driving in this video

He's just pandering to the moron Sydney fans and getting some engagement up.

What are Broncos meant to do when NRL hand down a suspension wait until the new year when Buzz finally awakens from his alcohol induced coma to release a statement

The morons would be blowing up about the club being silent.

How much did Trindall gets fined? I bet if it was anything, it is nowhere near 120k.
I don't really recall any statement for Trindall... he was playing one round two days later done for drink driving... nothing... and then he's playing again, but sharks had him do some driving courses or something.

People are agreeing with Buzz on the Dogs forum.

So I said they are all getting the pox

And that crash was not related to the drugs in his system.

Even so, a crash where nobody was injured more than minor, shouldn't double the penalty.

Finally, my point (very clearly) was this incident will not bring an end to the belief that Broncos players are treated more harshly, and it hasn't.
Lol what do you mean the crash was not related to the drugs. It doesn't matter at all. I dont get the argument. You would have guys smashing drugs constantly and driving if they could just say it didn't make me crash. How do you tell. It's hard and fast. You can't have drugs in your system and cause a crash.

It absolutely should be double the penalty. He caused a car crash on drugs and unlicensed. No matter how long ago he took it.

I dont get why people are up in arms.

On a side note. I loved the political party drop from the Broncos right before Christmas. Excellent PR.

What do you mean political party drop from the Broncos? It was the NRL who issued his breach notice a week after his court date. The Broncos only responded to it yesterday, how long were they supposed to wait for? February? March?

After Christmas I meant to say. Probably should have mentioned the nrl too. There is absolutely strategy from both sides in when they announce this kind of shit. It's smart. Often it just fades away. What better then around Christmas and new years. Perfect timing really.

he wasn't charged with being under the influence.

he would have been more impaired if he had a couple of standard drinks (but remained under the 0.05 limit)

Does anyone have the video of the mother & Uber driver speaking after the court case. Was on channel 9.

The mother said she cried when she heard the sentence & the uber driver said it wasn't enough

Getting your talking points from Rothfield was your obvious mistake.

This is clearly instigated by Madge or one of the other grubby blues on our books, getting their down south media buddies to do their bidding and trying to take us down from the inside. We should kick them all out and quickly. They are seeping their poison into our great club.

You have no say regarding failed tests and Naden. 2021 World Anti-Doping Code which allows a one-month ban for athletes in cases where the ingestion of a banned substance was out-of-competition and not for performance-enhancing purposes.
