The best way to ruin the fun for the media is to play him in cup first, than in extended squad and not actually play him, then bench and only give him 5 minutes at the end of the game, then come back in whichever capacity you want him at a home game.

That sounds like a fun idea to **** with the press, but I'd to see our strongest team on the field ASAP, before Origin ***** up everything. There's a lot of pessimism directed towards Ezra that might timestamp back to the namecalling incident in round one last year. He's never been the same since. I'd like to think he's grown since then. I'm optimistic.

I'm itching to see Hunt, Reynolds, Walsh and Mam on the field, all at the same time. I don't care who plays hooker, whether they start, or one makes their way from the bench. But that's really going to be something. I think.

After Origin, Madge will have to decide whether Hunt takes 9, which Ben has said he will accept. But it's not on his wishlist. It seems a waste to relegate him to 14. That's the dilemma.

I think Mam is slightly overrated. He's good, but I would prefer Hunt at 6 (unless the whole thing falls apart). Mam will get his chance during origin, but unless he significantly makes the team better (compared the Hunt), he can play in cup for a while.

This is what I meant by pessimism. Ezra is a brilliant player. He was Dally M 5/8th in 2023 and almost the Churchill medalist. Ideally we can squeeze both Hunt and Mam into the team.

Thinking one player is better than another is obviously not pessimism. Mam is quicker than Hunt, Hunt does everything else better.
