If we play the low block they won't have anywhere near as much space in behind to attack.
They'll have their home crowd revving them on so it'll be a tough match, but may cause them to take unnecessary risks in order to appease the home support.
Australian can just sit deep and defend and attack on the counter as they did tonight.
Ironically both teams would take a draw as itd most likely send them both through.

They seemed to be at a bit of a loss with how to penetrate our defence. We just had bodies everywhere.

I think the neutrals in the crowd were on our side too. A huge roar went up every time we did something good.

Turkey politically have made a few less favourable decisions, the country is not that well liked.

As for the game, we were only ever going to win if we put away the chances we got and we did. That was the difference.

I think if they played with an out and out striker to occupy the defence they would have caused more problems. Their striker was about 5ft 8 and they were pumping balls into him expecting him to compete with the Australian center halves. It wasnt going to happen. Their forwards werent clever enough to move the back 3 around imo.

Not sure what the thinking was there.

Circatti is 6'3. Burgess is 6'4. Souttar is 6'6. It just wasn't going to work.

They seemed to be using him as a false nine, but then they never had any runners into space from out wide or midfield, and he never really dropped deep either, so he just ended up as an orthodox striker which gave that back 3 very little to do in terms of being tested. They just ate up anything put into the box.
