We're not winning it period. But we should play to our strengths and see how far we can get. We quite simply don't have the players to go toe to toe with the big boys. But we can do what we are capable of and see how far it takes us.
Even making something like the quarters would be out of this world.
It might sound a bit defeatist and unaustralian but ultimately its true.
The only team i can think of in recent times that unexpectedly won a big tournament was Greece in 2004 in the euros and they played a similar style to us - keep it tight, pump it long and play like a wounded dog.
 
Watched Belgium/Egypt while doing my cardio. Belgium need to get Lukaku 90 min fit ASAP. His presence as an actual 9 absolutely changed the game for them after offering nothing prior.

Problem is, he then either through fatigue or fatigue around him, they stopped going back to him. His first 2 involvements were a goal and a shot on a target. Needed more from Doku to get crosses into him, or get to the byline more.

Egypt looked nice though. Their attack can definitely cause problems.

Uruguay breaks. This would be a pretty bad loss for them. They have enough top tier players.

Getting out of the group would be a great result, after that, it's different gravy.

We won't be playing teams with 2-3 incredible players, we will be playing teams with 11 incredible players with players in elite clubs all over the world. Then the players they bring off the bench, they'll have it on us too.

We're not winning the World Cup. We just have to play to our strengths and see how far it gets us. It's a tough watch but that's what it is when you've got inferior players.
