Final Thoughts

has hunt shown much this year to say he's a worthy 7? or is it largely because he hasnt even been given the opportunity.

to me if he was being groomed to be the 7 he should of been playing Q cup or something.

He's played 20-odd games of first grade this year, averaging 30+ mins per game.

As far as I'm concerned, he's far more talented and robust than Norman and should get first dibs on the 7.

No matter what happens, Hook will either play Norman or Hunt as the bench utility. I feel for Kurt

Hook has already said that Norman is being groomed to replace Locky and I support that thought, unless Capewell does a Reed on us.

The Macca/Hunt combo has been working well, and unless Macca becomes an 80 minutes hooker, it's bound to stay that way for a while.

Like everyone else, extremely proud of the 2011 crop, and extremely grateful to Paul White and Anthony Griffin to have restored the pride and culture of the club after the fortunately short Cullen and Henkak dynasty.

In the end, what a fantastic finish for Lockyer to kick that winning field goal in front of a packed and delirious Suncorp Stadium!
THANK YOU, GOD OF RUGBY LEAGUE!!! :respect: :respect: :respect: :respect: :respect:

To me, Hunt is too good to languish as a substitute hooker for much longer. He's a first grade halfback waiting for an opportunity. He deserves that opportunity to start next season IMO.

Sorry, can't agree with that. I'm going to do a BP here, but I declare Hunt too slow to be a HB... :tsk:

How can you be too slow to be a halfback?

norman has the hands of an angel. he will shine.

john sutton cant tackle and hes been playing first grade for years.

Really? I'd expected this from anyone but you!

How are you ever gonna break the line or take advantage of fast play the balls if you're slow of the mark and have no leg speed.
Hunt has the brain, but since he's bulked up for the hooker position, his speed has markedly suffered.

Name one quality half back without speed...

I'm not talking about being able to tackle. I'm talking about being able to get in and do what needs to be done. Norman's shown too often with his opportunities that he fades into the background when things aren't going his way. Hunt will have a go.

Cooper Cronk

Speed is a bonus for a halfback to have, but no crucial. Hell, Joey wasn't the fastest guy but was probably the best I've ever seen. Hunt's not a slouch and has good acceleration.

Andrew Johns.
Allan Langer.

Sure, they went from standing start to full pace in one step, but that's because full pace was 100m in about 30secs.

Cronk is in the top three at the Storms over the first 40. Not as quick as Beale though.

Hmm... Langer, Johns, Cronk. How to compare to Hunt...
