I rate Atkins as a ref, probably the best ref in my eyes. Not just because we won but his interpretations in the past have led me to think that way about him as an official.
Yep I agree. Would have been a much slower game if Klown Klein was ref as he would have not pulled up the Storm and their dodgy ruck crap like Atkins did.

have to highlight this, but that first scuffle with Carrigan, I have never seen Haas jump in to defend someone more than that, completely different to how it went when he was playing for NSW, it's a shame he wasn't eligible for Qld by mare months you know he wished he could.

instincts don't lie.

I had exactly the same thought. In Origin Payne didn't get involved really in scuffles because his Broncos mates were there. Pat didn't have a second thought getting into it with a mate he played Origin and Australia with.

So many teams have been "off" when they've played us this year according to the pundits and the same old story is being repeated after last night. "Storm were off, Storm were clunky etc. etc."

I wonder if they'll ever figure it out.

It's like something was denying them the time and space to execute their plays that they put on the training paddock, what could it be?

I reckon the Storm last night were so focused on having a game plan to stop Walsh ( and he wasnt as involved or effective as usual ) they forgot we arent a one man team.

That game last night was won on physicality more than our skillset. That first half was as physical as anything i have seen in recent years at NRL level. I've never seen Payno gassed after 30 mins, but him and Carrigan both were. Tbf, the Storm matched it with us physically in that first half, but early in the second you could see their intensity levels dropped.

I knew we were winning that game anyway. I dont think i have ever mentioned it, but i said we were winning it by 26.

Bellamy just hasn't been able to replace the forwards he lost to Dolphins and last night it was evident, they got some great players in the spine but never really had any momentum through the ruck.

Harry Grant couldn't do anything behind a pack that was struggling to get on top.

Was any reason given for their captain not turning up to the presser?

Haven't read through the whole thread so not sure if it's been posted but it was NAS that destroyed Paps leg.

Full weight of NAS coming down on your leg isn't ideal.

Said it in the pre match thread but Munster has been quiet/ordinary since Origin. Not sure what's going on there. As long as he performs during Origin that's all that matters.

Just so stoked with last night. Was an awesome atmosphere at the game.
