Be nice to the poor dears, they only ruined the comp by: systematically cheating the cap for years, introducing wrestling on a large scale, diving, constantly exploiting the rules to such an extent that they need to regularly be tinkered mid-season, etc.
EDIT: Despite finishing in the top 4 every year, they've also done virtually nothing in terms of developing NRL quality players from Victoria and still have to leech their top talent from other states.

That's up to the coaching, but at the moment the team is on a roll so you could try to ride that momentum straight into the prelim.
Having the week off can kill a bit of that momentum, but theyll also have 2 weeks to integrate players into the team ie Reyno, Mam and Willison.
If you lose in week 1 then you're bringing them in when the momentum has been dented anyway.
You do things to minimise risk of injury for every player, coming back from an injury in Canberra and making a 35-year-old half ease back in from the bench when he could be called on quickly would not be minimising the risk.

Now like I've said previously, I'm never keen to change a winning team...but I wonder if our sudden run of form is because of Hunt and Walters moving to the halves, or if it's because the team as a whole is peaking at the right time?
We killed Souths, were looking good against Melbourne until the injures, and while we beat the Dolphins, Knights and Cowboys - they’re all in horrible form and we probably would have won with any spine combo.
Maybe Reynolds and Mam back won't be too bad...

Let's look at the Reynolds return sensibly ... because the current thought process for many around here is eerily similar to the thought process that many had around Walsh just a couple of months ago when they were ready to jettison him for Cobbo. now they're ready to hand Walsh the keys to the kingdom.

plus Reynolds is one of only 3 players to kick a 2pt field goal this year. going into the finals where games could potentially get tight having a quality field goal kicker could come in very handy ... and Ben Hunt has kicked a grand total of 1 field goal in his career of 350+ games

No one is questioning Reynolds' quality mate. What we are questioning is his very high potential to re-injure his already dodgy hamstring.
Plus, even in this discussion above, it would be far more important to compare the stats as halfback, not with Hunt at 6/9.
Regardless, again it comes back to Reynolds very concerning leg conditioning.

Hard to compare when hunt didn’t seem to know his role when not playing half back. He’s somehow unlocked walsh since being our half back but that could be the result of many things going right at the moment. Tough decisions coming for the coaches.

people are overstating his "dodgy" hammy's either because they they've got short memories, or simply want to because it suit their argument.
he's had a couple of injuries the last couple of years ... but most of them weren't hammy injuries.

Walsh continued his good form with Hunt at half back ... he didn't start it when Reynolds got injured. if he did we'd be fighting for the spoon right now ... rather than claiming 4th spot

It isn't about the last couple of years, it is about right now. He's 35, did his hammy from running a bit too much and looked awful for the few weeks before and tweaked it trying to return. Its an injury recurrence waiting to happen. Why risk it if you don't need to?
