PRE-GAME [Finals Week 1, 2025] - Broncos vs Raiders

I think our '23 team smashes this Raiders team BUT we aren't the '23 Broncos and there are no '23 Panthers in the way either. Both those teams from the '23 GF probably go through this season undefeated, such is the drop off in quality in the last two years overall in the comp.

Therefore, given the fact this Raiders side is the closest thing to the '23 version of us, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win it all. Yes their spine is inexperienced but their forwards and backline isn't, at least not completely. Fogarty also isn't a Spring chicken, he's a mature footy player.

That all said, Fogarty is their key, we shut him down, we win, simple as that. They may still score a freakish try from somewhere through Weakes or Strange but you can handle that. Fogarty has the ability to keep kicking them out of trouble and that is gold in modern league.
A big difference between the raiders and the 2023 teams is defence though

This Raiders team conceded over 500 points in the regular season, basically on par with this year's broncos and we weren't even good defensively this year.

2023 Broncos was 425 conceded, which is slightly higher than dogs this year and they're the best defensive team for the year.

2023 Panthers were an insane 312 (13 ppg)... that has to be up there with one of the most dominant defensive teams in history

It actually really hurts because had we not run into THAT Panthers' side, we would already have our 7th premiership. So sad.

Not sure why Hunt is saying he’s definitely playing 7. If this is true why let whinge bucket Stuart know who is playing where?

Yeh it could be a double bluff, but we also show Shiba playing in the firsts during training.

Are we too honest or too dumb?

Are we out Ricky-ing Ricky?

Walsh has clutched at a calf, and has now left training (gone inside). Per Joel Gould.

I like it. Says to them that we couldn't care less about mind games, we feel our best is good enough, doesn't matter who is playing, where or when.

This kind of stuff might have worked in the 80's, 90's.

It doesn't work today. Teams will prepare for all scenarios.

1. Walsh
2. Karapani
3. Staggs
4. Shiba
5. Mariner
6. Walters
7. Hunt
8. Jensen
9. Paix
10. Haas
11. Piakura

13. Carrigan

14. Smoothy
15. Kobe
16. Talty
17. Hunt

So that's what the side is going to be this Sunday.

Has somebody debunked what water to drink to get recovered from broken arms? It’s been just around 5 weeks since the cast was put in. Perhaps by the time we play home prelim final, it should be all sweet.

I got the ultimate tactic for this game. We name Baker at acting prop and bench Haas. Stuart and his boys will be laughing so hard they will lose all focus and be right for an ambush when just before kick off Baker pulls out injured and Haas starts and another foward comes in for Baker.

Penrith were also allowed to live offside
