The good thing about this Broncos team is that it hasn't followed up a good performance with a complacent one all year. This team is playing for eachother, not just sitting back and waiting for someone to make it happen. I can't see that changing, but good on Hook for keeping their minds on the job.

yeah, but they haven't put 40 on too many teams this season (only the sharks before last saturday) so I suspect his reality check to the players was probably as a result of the big scoreline and a bit too much excitement / chest beating bubbling away amoungst the playing group since saturday night. Yep, sign of a good coach.

Also, no matter how much coaches may deny it, there's always some added tension and desire to win when they're playing a side that's coached by a former mentor. I used to see it first hand in my former career dealing with basketball coaches in the NBL .. Guy Molloy (former Taipans coach) and Ian Stacker (former Townsville Crocs coach) would both be close to unbearable for the week leading up to a game against whatever team Brian Goorjian was coaching at the time.

Yeah, his comments are fair. But then so was Fittler's that it was the most impressive performance of the first weekend of the finals. Occasional softness in the middle and occasional poor kick chase aside, there's no doubt the Broncos were the most consistently strong over the 80 minutes.

But he's right that the areas that were poor will find us out in the coming weeks. I dunno if the Dragons have it in them to exploit those areas, but certainly Manly and our most likely GF opponents Wests Tigers will rip us to bits if there's any softness in defence.

After polishing off the whole bottle in lemonade and ice over the curtain raiser and main game I was that excited at the end of the game I half stood half jumped out of my seat and overbalanced face first over 4 rows of people in front. I high tailed it out of there lol. My missus said I didn't shut up all game but I only vaguely remember!
