Folau will come back

Why would he come back early though? Regardless of how he performs he still gets $1.5M a season, and even if he doesn't enjoy it I'd reckon he'd stay for the money. Hell, if I was in a job I hated, I'd stay for $1.5M a year.
because after 3 years hed already have $4.5mil in the bank from AFL alone. even after only 2 years hed have $3 million in the bank from AFL - which is what he'd earn in what, 6 years in rugby league?

Folau doesnt seem like the kind of player who is all about the money. sure, i have no doubt that he signed with AFL only for the money - but once hes lined his pockets he'll just do what he wants IMO. if hes not enjoying it, which i dont think he will, i think he'd have no problem leaving and coming back to league. hed have made his millions, and wouldnt exactly be coming back to league on chump change. either way, hes set for life after 2 years in AFL. anything after that is just gravy.

I understand his point, but that's quite a confusing way of expressing it.

I reckon Izzy coming back depends on how well he picks up AFL. Potentailly he could be a star but does he have the brains for it..

But that's the thing. It doesn't matter because he is already on $1.5M a season, and locked it in for 4 years. If he ends up ordinary at the game, worst case scenario he comes back when he is 25, still with 6 or 7 years left to become awesome at League again.

I know but if he is good, the AFL will throw money at him to keep him IMO.

He would have to become a top player for them to throw that kind of money at him, and I doubt he will ever get remotely close to the level of a Judd or Brown.
Once the novelty's off and fumble got the publicity out of him, league is where he'll get his worth.

I just think if Folau is halfway decent after 4 years the AFL will fight alot harder to keep him. The NRL just rolls over and dies.

If Karmichael Hunt has been hopeless at it, which by all news reports he has, and hasn't adapted thus far, Folau has absolute no chance. Folau's body is built for Rugby League, he is too big for AFL.

K has not been hopeless.

Yeh from what I hear he has been solid enough.

Maybe PETERN was just reading The AP News eusa_think

He was what everyone expected in his first few games but in the end he was being named in the best 6 for the team in the VFL.

And with regards to Folau, Beads I really don't think that after he has done all he can for GWS's publicity, they won't want to be paying him $1.5M a year again. The best paid players in the game (Ablett, Judd, Brown etc) are reportedly on around $750k a year and when GWS are eventually restricted to the salary cap they will find it very hard to maintain Izzy's big pay day.

Things might have changed a bit in 4 years time, I do think if Izzy is a success the AFL will fight for him if he is thinking of leaving. Also who says the NRL will be able to offer the big money Izzy is after in 4 years time.

In 4 years;

Gillett will be on huge money, Hoffman will be on very big money, Thaiday will be on huge money, Inglis will be on huge money and Yow Yeh will probably be playing SOO and be on very good money. Unless things turn out way differently I would be surprised if we have room to move with the gluttony of young talent coming through our system.

Inglis won't be at the Broncos after 2 years. I'm certain of that.

That is certainly my opinion as well. My mind says that he only signed a 2 year deal so that once all the "crap" has settled down back at the Storm he will be back there. However he will be pretty handy at the Broncos and by then hopfully another player will come through that will develop into a replacement. (of sorts, pretty hard to replace Inglis)

Do you mean he's been good despite the fact he's been rested for the remainder of the season because he's burnt out already?
