Folau will come back

He will take abit to get used to the speed, but burnt out or not he has done well on the field.

thats not what i hear from a mate whos an afl player and has been at a few of his games and watched him play. he also says that the players in the opposition teams have a bit of a laugh about how hes pretty much out on his feet after 20 minutes, and for that 20 minutes he cant even keep up.

That is certainly my opinion as well. My mind says that he only signed a 2 year deal so that once all the "crap" has settled down back at the Storm he will be back there. However he will be pretty handy at the Broncos and by then hopfully another player will come through that will develop into a replacement. (of sorts, pretty hard to replace Inglis)
i think it depends on how the Broncos go in the next 2 years. if we snag a premiership, i think he might stay. if not, he'll be out the door.

If Karmichael Hunt has been hopeless at it, which by all news reports he has, and hasn't adapted thus far, Folau has absolute no chance. Folau's body is built for Rugby League, he is too big for AFL.

K has not been hopeless.

He was what everyone expected in his first few games but in the end he was being named in the best 6 for the team in the VFL.

Do you mean he's been good despite the fact he's been rested for the remainder of the season because he's burnt out already? [/quote:5f3oll0z]

All reports say that GC are happy with what he has shown so far. He is burnt out, I expected him to be considering he played Union before hand and had not much of a real preseason.

Seriously, what did you expect them to say? That he's crap and will never cut it at the highest level? [eusa_eh

According to the actual game reports I read, despite scoring 2 goals within the square, he was out of his depth in the first quarter of the games and a passenger in the other 3 quarters.
If he's in their top 6, I'd hate to think how bad the rest of their VFL squad is! [icon_evillaugh

That was his first game you loser. How do you think an AFL player would go playing League for the first time...? [icon_shru

Give up Beads. They've got no idea about AFL, they just want to hang shit on Karmichael because it's the done thing around these parts. No doubt when Folau plays his first game they'll be falling over themselves in the race to fellate him.

Yeah, you're right. In the game after that, he was even worse, but still he was named in their best 6 players... [eusa_doh

What I certainly am not going to believe is the reports of how happy GC is with him, they'd be crazy to say otherwise! But I read the opinions and chronicles of the games he played, and all said the same: He has a hell of a long way to go to cut it physically, besides the obvious time he will need to learn the intrinsics of the game, just to become an average player. For Folau, it will be even tougher in my opinion...

P.S. I don't recall insulting you at any time despite generally disagreeing with your opinions, so keep your keyboard heroics to someone who might actually get impressed by them.

Although I don't follow it avidly, I watch the occasional game and know enough about fumble ball to base my opinion.

As for the rest, I don't care who you like to fellate in the AFL or even NRL for my part, but I don't think this is the right forum for your fetish... [icon_shru

[icon_lol1. Well done! You've certainly addressed and rebutted my point. Well done sir.

That's something that also can be said on your behalf when it comes to actual thinking. [eusa_clap.gi

I am sure GWS will be wrapped with that Tweet. Alot of things change in 4 years though./

4 years is a long time out of the game and we may:

a) not have the money to sign him
b) not need him depending on who we have coming through at the time and whether GI is still here or not.

If only the emotional outpourings of young men actually meant something.

The Izzy tweet is typical of guys leaving a club. It happens at every level of sport.
I wouldn't hold Izzy to his word, because he will soon forget about us and start saying the same thing about his future club(s).

I don't reckon GWS will be all that upset to be honest. IMO when they signed Izzy, they signed him to sell tickets, not win football games, and they could afford to pay him massive overs because new clubs are exempt from salary cap in AFL. When the salary cap kicks in they won't (or shouldn't) want to pay someone double what the best players in the AFL are earning. Izzy might turn out to be a decent player but won't be worth the money the likes of Ablett, Brown, Riewoldt etc are on.

And RBY - of course, never take it as a promise in a situation like this. But it's at least better than him saying there is no way he will be back.

I'm tipping him to bail during year 2 or 3, followed by a very brief and unenthusiastic stint in Union.
