Footy Show makes disabled drunk slur

yeh thought he was sloshed.

Why the producers didnt warn them is beyond me. Saying that, they'll give him an xbox ;)

I watch it fairly regularly, its a damn site better than most of the other crap on FTA (ala Biggest Loser, Big Brother, a current affair etc).

I'd watch a 24 hour marathon of A Current Affair before I'd watch 5 minutes of the Footy Show.

IMO it was an honest mistake he wouldn't have had the slightest clue that the guy had a bad illness.

Do people still watch the Footy Show?

I rarely watch it these days. I realised that it was on when I was channel surfing but meh. So I totally missed the whole street talk incident...it sounds pretty embarrassing for the bouncer though. [icon_thumbs_do

Who watched the footy show? Honestly? I agree with Coxy. As soon as Matt Johns arrived everything went down hill.

I must have been one of a only a few then that picked the guy as having some form of disability - I thought it was pretty obvious, meh. Poor taste, Footy Show should get dragged over the coals for it but they won't.

TBH, I'm a fairly regular watcher of the first 15 mins of the show. I haven't watched more than half an hour of it for probably a year or so, and I'll often not even last 10 minutes. Good to see them chatting some footy at the start and previewing anything that might be coming up, but tbh I really do just get sick of the sh*t humour. I love a joke, but it's not even funny.

As much as I don't like a lot of the presenters, I'll still regularly watch the Sunday footy show and roast - regardless of whether I agree or not, football discussion is still great!

I'm exactly the same, I'll watch up to the first ad break - cos Fatty is a damn funny guy.....

I could tell the dude was disabled, it was so obvious...but I can also see why Fatty said what he did, probably thought if he was disabled Robbo and the crew would've given the heads up.

I thought the guy was a tad drunk. Definetly wouldnt have picked him for having a disability on first clance etc.

If it was truely a mistake then there isn't really anything they can do apart from apologise. I think that bit with robbo and the interview with price and tate was the only bit i actuall watched. it was just on in the background otherwise.

I agree it was probably an honest mistake from Fatty, and had he known he wouldn't have joked about it.

BUT, Hadley's right about their general aim and objective, particularly low life scumbags like Robbo and "Reg Reagan".

It's just Fatty being Fatty on the show. Just a joke, he meant no harm. It's all been blown WAY out of proportion.

Sad to hear about his brother though. How on earth he can appear on TV and host the show just days after his brother's death is........ Well I don't know the word for it. I know I wouldn't be able to do anything let alone be on TV.

He's stronger than me.

His brother just passed away today - he might not front on Thursday night.

Just watching tele and they said he's saying sorry to that security guard. I think your right, could be pre-taped before his brother's passing.

I guess those who actually watch the show will see.

Ok fair enough they are still going to sue him...however do they have a leg to stand on?? I mean everyone pretty much knows it was an honest mistake. Surely they can't sue him over that!

Considering his brother was downes syndrome I doubt fatty would've intentionally made a slur against a disabled person. They have no leg to stand on.
