If you're doing the wrong thing you don't send the contracts to the NRL. They submitted both for registering with different amounts on. They got sent back saying how about you submit one and fix the errors.

Goodness me, that just reeks of incompetence doesn't it!

They rid themselves of Watmough's huge amount of money they pay him this year in October.

Over $2 Million per year for 2 players is a lot.

Not completely Foran related but this fiasco shows what a poorly run club the Eels are. They produce a lot of good juniors through the Parramatta system but they don't bother recruiting them and instead buy players for absurd amounts. I can't see the Eels returning to the top until they sort out the rot in the offices there which has been holding them back for years.

Almost every player they've recruited in recent years have been duds or flops. Sandow, Tonga, Watmough (not really a flop or dud but hasn't shown the form he did at Manly), Webb, Roberts, Lussick, Walker, Maituai, Hicks and Whatuira come to mind. Nathan Peats, Danny Wicks, Semi Radradra, Corey Norman and Will Hopoate though have been good for them though.

In less than a year the Eels have lost Jarryd Hayne to America, their CEO has resigned, in fighting at the top is still going on, some of the players have spoken out against the coach, there is a chance they will win their 3rd wooden spoon in 4 years, Foran and both Hopoate might back out of their deals and the club has been fined for Salary Cap breaches.

According to the SMH, Forans manager is asking the NRL for salary cap concessions for a club to sign Foran if he walks away from the Eels. Because the Roosters, Bulldogs and Manly can't afford to pay him a million a season under the cap.

It would be complete BS if the NRL grant this concession because there are clubs that could afford him.

We all know that the NRL will though, especially if uncle Nick is involved. Next 48 hours we will hear Foran has signed with the Roosters and only 150K of his salary will be included under their cap.

The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today confirmed the signing of Kieran Foran for the next two seasons, with an option for an additional two seasons.

Foran has reaffirmed his commitment to the Eels from 2016 and will commence with the club in November 2015 for pre-season training.

“Kieran has been very professional while the club worked through the process and I thank him for his approach,” said Eels Chairman Steve Sharp.

“I would also like to thank our Members and fans for their patience throughout this process with a good result for all achieved in the end.”

“It’s now time to move on and get back to focusing on football. Our Members and fans showed incredible support last Saturday night and we want to see them out in force on Monday night when we take on the Wests Tigers.”
