It looks like all upgrades and developments in the car were more greatly targeted towards norris' driving style, to the extent that piastri did not accept several of them.

This has been more noticeable since the front suspension changes they brought in on the Canada weekend.

In doing this, Norris is closer to piastri, but mclaren shot itself in the foot and has not developed as well as other cars through the season (luckily enough they had a big enough lead to accomodate it).

Now with his confidence and form shot, and his team not behind him, out of norris, Max and Oscar, I think oscar is less likely of the three to with the championship.
 
Ticks me off that both the commentary team and McLaren are talking about Verstappen being Norris' closest challenger for the title.

I imagine there is going to be some major fallout from this season. I can't ever recall a time before where a team has shafted the championship leader like this, especially for another guy who hasn't won it before either.
 
Well Oscar still has a less but it’s really shrunk. He needs to turn his form around quickly or it’s all over. He just looks off since the mid season break. He needs to get a win desperately or at least a second behind Max.

****ing backwards that you develop the car to make it better for the driver lower in the DWC. But zac has known and supported lando since he was 12, and has dreamt of making him WC so not surprised.

Even so, oscar dropped off a cliff And that is on him. 4th was definitely achievable today but he has list what he had early in the season.

A number of things have taken their toll on him IMO but I think it all started with that race in Italy(?) when he was told to give back the place to Lando. That sort of thing, on top of all the other perceived bias would erode his confidence in his team, 100%.

He’s racing two races every time he’s out there. I don’t know a driver that could handle it, even max…
 
Max could win out from here, he comfortably looks to have the fastest car again, and he's a freak.

Tied favourite with Oscar at $2.60 now.

Damn. He was double figures a few weeks back and I thought about it when I was putting my bet on Norris
 
Oscar can swing momentum, he just needs to switch back on. Whatever his team is doing to undermine him, he needs to get it out of his head and get the bit back between the teeth. He likes to prove people wrong, get back out there next week and do it.
 
Not a great FP2 for Oscar at all, worrying. A lot of main drivers skipped FP1, he didn't, and he was still only 4th in FP1 too.

Really needs to find some pace in his car in FP3 for Quali tomorrow morning.
