Why is that.? I know nothing about F1 but from what I'm reading I have to wonder if Oscar is being deliberately held back.by his team to give Lando every chance.
A lot of other cars are getting a bit faster but Oscars guts somehow can't keep up.

Yea I have no idea. While Ferrari, Mercedes, etc have gotten better - I dont know what the huge difference between Norris and Piastri would be down too - besides just personal form. Aren't the cars pretty much identical?

No idea. Just been reading stuff which suggest some teams have tweaked the cars to get better.

McLaren have made all their changes to suit Lando. No two drivers are the same, hence no one can keep up with Max in a Red Bull. His lack of pace comes down to his team favouring the guy in second place, he’s being screwed over by his own team while leading the championship. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Oscar does not seen to be in a good headspace. To send a message back in Q1 to” let him know as soon as he is safe “ is not good for a championship leader.

DWC gone for oscar now.
If he made a mistake but still had good pace you could see a chance, but he just has no pace at all anymore. Will be lucky to finish the championship in second.

Yep crazy. The best thing that can happen is Lando DNFs and makes McLaren look stupid as Max powers past both and wins it because McLaren favoured the wrong driver.

Like I've said numerous times, I don't know enough about the sport as I'm too new. Why was Oscar faster than Norris for so long? Is it a case of they had the same car, which was good for Oscar and they've just gradually tuned it to suit Norris?
I assume that's a thing by the way, the cars can't be set up differently for each driver?

All good questions. Basically, each car obviously has a design that they work from, so that works for any driver. But to continue to improve you must make upgrades. These upgrades tend to be more driver specific.
What that means is that each team has resources an these must be allocated accordingly. In Red Bull’s case, unlike most drivers, Max loves crazy amounts of downforce. No other driver likes this and hence why they all struggle with it. This is also incidentally why Hadjar likely gets the second seat next year because he is the only one who they believe drives like Max.
Now Lando obviously likes a certain set up and so whenever th upgrades come, they are tailored to his preferences.
Oscar is a different person, so he likes different things. When upgrades come, he’s always the second driver to get them. No one knows what the latest are but Lando is flying and Oscar has become a snail, relatively speaking. This has also happened at a time other teams have found upgrades that work an have closed the gap to McLaren. So it’s a double whammy.
This is also all on the back of McLaren clearly using Papaya rules to favour Lando all throughout the season and he’s been gifted points he shouldn’t have had if it was purely based on driving. Although Oscar will likely lose the championship lead today, the guy who will take over has been given every advantage and for this to happen so deep into the season, it doesn’t sit right.
