MOTORSPORTS Formula 1

The pressure has gotten to Piastri. Pure and simple.

It never has in the lower grades and he was holding his own until he wasn't, I don't think its on him, well not completely anyway.

There's a big difference in the lower grades and F1 with regards to what brings pressure. It's a whole different ball game.

Of course it is but you don't just massively lose performance from nowhere, especially when you have a decent buffer. He has been massively let down by his team.

Here we go, game on.

Nice work Oscar, get that bit between your teeth.

Piastri not catching Russell, in fact he's falling behind but he might be managing tyres.

How do you explain the massive loss in pace, not only to Norris, but to a lot of the top teams? How has his team compromised him so much? He's probably down half a second. There's no way that is down simply to the car. He's gone from dominating to behind Ferrari's and Mercedes.

Either Russell cooked his tyres or is managing them because Oscar closing in at a rate of notes suddenly.

Upgrades. Red Bull bought in a new floor which turned him into a rocket ship. Ferrari and Mercedes have stepped up too. McLaren bought upgrades that massively helped Norris and did absolutely nothing for Piastri. Not to mention the swapping positions because Norris had a slow stop for crying out loud and helping Norris qualify out of the bottom five and then getting hit by Norris on the opening lap and the team saying all good, that's just racing.

Look, I'm aware that the race is on, but at some stage I'd like to hear what upgrades Mclaren implemented, and how they favoured Norris over Piastri. It's something I've only really read on here, and I'm not sure what it's based on. But for the next 10 laps let's just hope he catches Bearman.

And Lando gets lucky yet again because it means Oscar couldn't get that position and keep the championship lead. Ridiculous.
